  • 2022 Jurtschitsch Riesling Urgestein

    Austria, Niederösterreich, Kamptal

    Lighter than Pernstein, less dense in the nose but feels more linear and mineral, a touch flinty, underripe/raw/green fruit, citrus fruit
    Palate is juicier than the nose, spicy, 12.50%, very fruity and fresh, med finish.
    Give it time

    Very light, easy, smooth, juicy, ripe, citrus fruit, mango, pineapple but with some flinty notes again.
    Palate again smooth, juicy fruit, light to medium body, med to high acidity, long finish

  • 2021 Jurtschitsch Riesling Loiserberg

    The wine is tight, green fruit, pear, herbal notes, some tea notes, spice notes, nicely structured.
    Palate again juicy, tight texture, green apple, pear, grapefruit, citrus, white peach, full body, 13%, high acidity, long finish.

    Gruner Veltliner, 11.50%
    Fresh, lime flavoured, lemon drops, showing intensity, dense fruit core, structured. With time in the glass, the fruit gets more stewed/boiled, cooked pineapple.
    Palate showing loads of fruit, edgy, showing tannins and high acidity, mineral, steely, overripe to canned fruit, pineapple, mango, apricot, long finish
    Interesting to have as a pairing

    The wine shows medium intensity, fresh red fruit, spice, cherry, peppers, some reduction
    Palate is rather empty with elevated acidity, spice notes, pepper, very fresh, angular, oak is quite upfront, wood varnish, med finish

    Highly reductive in the nose, smoky, burnt bread, bretty, overripe/mashed red fruit, berries, oaky frame
    Palate showing the same fruit pattern, elevated acidity, some burnt notes, lacks tannins, angular to have by the glass, med finish
