    Deep golden yellow colour with fine streams and a wonderful mature nose showing butterscotch and roasted coffee notes and a mature palate with a pleasant citrus acidity combined with red apples and a intense lengthy finish.

  • 2002 Union Champagne de Saint Gall Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée Orpale Blanc de Blancs 94 Points

    France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru

    (From magnum, Late disgorged in fall of 2016, 100% Chardonnay from Grand Cru villages Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, dosage 7 gr/L)
    Light yellow colour with a stream of fine bubbles in the glass with a pleasant still youthful nose showing candied lemons, hazelnuts and a hint of marzipan as it opens up. With a lovely creaminess on the intense palate covering the citrus acidity before it opens up with candied lemons on the elegant and lengthy finish.

    (Disgorged in spring 2017, 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger)
    Light yellow colour with a greenish hue and opens up with a youthful nose showing lime citrus flowers and minerals and with a still tight palate showing a pleasant lime citrus acidity and with a distinct lime zest bitterness on the lengthy finish. Drinking very well right now!

  • 2002 Franck Bonville Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Brut Millésimé 93 Points

    (Disgorged in May 2007, 100% Chardonnay from Avize and Oger)
    Golden yellow colour with a lovely maturing nose showing hazelnuts, minerals and with milk chocolate as well. Smoothing acidity on the palate showing ripe green apples acidity and opens up with a very pleasant butter note before a more oxidative note takes over on the lengthy finish. This has transformed in a delicious way and is much better compared to last bottle I had five years ago..

    (Decanted for half an hour, and put back into bottle, From magnum)
    Deep red colour with a maturing nose showing herbs, cinnamon and fresh cut grass at first and opens up with leather and liquorice in a very nice and pleasant way. Still showing tannins on the palate with a fruitful sweetness that is fading away now focusing on more tertiary notes of leather and dried fruit. Best bottle I’ve had of this vintage so far..

    (Decanted for half an hour)
    Lovely nose showing violets, leather, herbs and hints of liquorice in a very nice and pleasant way. Mature with softened tannins on the evolved palate showing dried fruit and herbs on the lengthy finish.

  • 1999 Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Grandi Annate 94 Points

    (Decanted for half an hour)
    Deep red colour with with a brick red hue and a maturing nose showing leather, liquorice and violets in a very nice and pleasant way. Still showing austere tannins on the intense palate with dried fruit and a pleasant herbal touch on the lengthy and intense finish. This was still showing a youthful touch with a few more years to give.
