Quick sketches of what I tried, far too young for categorical judgments and my palate just isn't that attuned to Burgundy so all this is to be taken with a pinch of salt. However in general, I found many of the reds to be very open, ripe and direct - to the extent I'd worry about investing the price of entry on the basis that they'd develop well. The whites on the other hand were generally precise with good levels of freshness and acidity.
One (potential) benefit of being a Burgundy dunce is that I didn't know much about the perceived hierarchy of producers or sites, nor the bottle prices, which would inevitably led to more self-editing in the moment.
Reduced at first but really compelling perfumed fruit with sweet delicacy and savoury depth- yin and yang. Chalky concentration and bright, sharp acidity on the palate. A love letter to Gamay

Strawberry and red cherry. Real depth but still playful and bouncy. Velveteen umami concentration on the palate, deep and silky with sharp acidity

Angular and perfumed, saturated fruit with a sense of savoury depth. Very coherent on the concentrated palate, fine tannins have some grip and high acidity. Would love to try this with a bit of age.

Knocking on the door of good Burgundy in terms of quality and refinement. Restrained but concentrated, the oak and fruit are nicely balanced: nothing juts out, very coherent. Serious acidity and a fine wave of tannins suggest this will age very nicely. Really good.

Some reduction but good depth with hazelnut, confit lemon. Savoury and baritone character. Good weight, angularity and acidity on the palate and a chalky texture. Not enormously expressive or generous but pleasant.

Perfumed oak, clean and expressive lemon, white peach, sweet white floral tones. Clean density on the palate, sharp acidity and good breadth. Very nice.

Clean and correct, a little strict. Precise, sharp lemon with a hint of talcy sweetness. Refreshing, undemonstrative.

Quite refined with a woody edge. Gentle perfume, moderate fruit weight. Feels professional, crisp, upright. Precise and chalky on the palate, warmed by a touch of oak spice. Some chew and sharp acidity, moderate length on the finish.

Refined and generous: lots of lovely oak, green apple, a powdery perfumed depth and a touch of nectarine. Beautiful nose, very clean. Flowing but concentrated, deep but light on its feet. Apple and apricot flavours on the palate, maybe a touch more acidity would really set this off? But overall it's great.

Very satisfying and exactly what I personally want from a Meursault: lovely oak richness, buttery depth and nuttiness. Lemony freshness and the palate has breadth, density and concentration but remains clean as a whistle with perfectly pitched acidity. Everything is a point.

Pear and spice, quite a bright interpretation of the village. A vertical and energetic character with the oak dialled right back. Yellow pear and green apple on the palate with zippy, sharp acidity and a medium body. Not the round, smooth archetype at all. Quite invigorating even if it's not what I expected.

Saturated, angular, maybe a touch confected? Complex fruit leads the way with a mineral, steely edge. Great body and concentration, smooth at first with notes of sous bois and beautiful fruit weight. Long finish and it feels satisfyingly young structurally - framing tannins which need time to resolve, zippy acidity.

Tight, mineral, vertical with sweet cherry fruit underneath. A touch muddy perhaps. Saturated and inviting palate, excellent purple fruit character and good length. Noticeable tannic structure bodes well.

Plum, raspberry, exotic perfumed oak, incense and a pulpy cherry note but clean and vertical. Silky and expressive, concentrated on the palate. Very complete and just plain delicious with great length.

Pure red fruit overlaid with spice, incense. Saturated depth to the fruit, exotic and pixelated. Sweet, plummy, smooth on the palate: very appealing and delicious right now but is this going to fall apart?

More savoury and serious than the Vosne Villages. A tarry hint with purple fruit. Exotically perfumed but compact, undemonstrative right now. You suspect there's something special waiting to unfurl. Balanced and relatively gentle on the palate, a tug of sharp tannin implies ageability.

A wonderful nose: incense, rose, kampot pepper. So perfumed with a sandalwood edge. Round, smooth and chewy on the palate with lovely concentration and weight.

Saturated and heady, cherry and stony minerality with some angularity and delineation on the nose. Compact but appealing. Round, smooth and sweetish on the palate. Nice to drink and approachable.

Slightly reduced, ferrous. Red and dark tart fruit. I found it a bit narrow, sharp and mean on the palate.

Savoury in style, violets and soy. Lean, tart palate with some purplish fruit and searing acidity. Not a style that appeals to me.

The signature of quality oak is a plus here, giving perfume and a cedary edge. Strawberry and rose. On the palate it's lean, vertical and tart.

Quite reticent with notes of soy, tart red fruit, iron and lavender. A sneaky level of concentration on the palate but I found it rather simple and one-note. Lots of acidity.

Nice saturation and drive. Sandalwood, incense, aromatic with power and depth even if it's not the most refined. A rather round, flat and sweet palate.

Ripe and dense but not heavy on the nose or palate: lots of quality oak, ripe strawberry, red cherry and a hint of citrus. Smooth, round, concentrated on the palate: friendly but not interesting right now. I know one is supposed to genuflect towards CSJ but it's not doing it for me.

Really distinctive purity of saturated blackcurrant fruit, very direct and assertive, a slight pastille character. Nice concentration and - unusually for this vintage - proper structure, with fine tannins and fresh acidity.

Superbly direct concentration on the nose: compact, focused and energetic. A magnified Pinot character without being obvious, overbearing. Great structure - overall there's just something very invigorating, alive and exciting about this wine.

Autumnal, dried leaves and saturated red, dark fruit. Glossy with an edge of cough syrup, compact and concentrated, loads of development potential. I wrote NICE in capital letters at the time and I stand by it.

Big, concentrated, weighty - really almost porty with all that depth, ripeness and saturation. Lots of oak, morello cherry with proper structure underneath. Probably great in a couple of decades.

Focused and concentrated, soaring perfumed fruit with a sappy and raw woody edge. Violets, soy, plum sauce. Sweet and heady presence and concentration on the palate. Lots of spiky little tannins hidden under the fruit and sharp acidity.

Overwhelming nose, all-encompassing. Meaty and savoury, spice- kind of nasty (in a good way) counterbalanced with sweet, pure and delicate fruit and perfume. A nose to get lost in. Big on the palate, lots of depth and concentration but it doesn't trade agility: directional with good tannic structure and serious length.

Green apple, stone, white peach and an undercurrent of toasty oak - really very nice. Concentrated palate with good sharp acidity.

Lemon, green apple. Tight and precise with some white blossom. Lemon and a saline minerality on the palate, great acidity. Good typicity.

It's not exactly what I'm looking for from a Chablis but forgetting typicity for a second, it's objectively very good stuff. Exotic and appealing signature to the oak which is just about restrained alongside a green apple note. Refined and contained concentration on the palate, sharp acidity with a cossetting depth and long pithy finish. Yum.

Chablis sur Macon? Very nice, balanced, refined and concentrated Chardonnay. But I'd never guess where it's from and there's nothing that sticks out as distinctive or all that interesting. Restrained power and well made, balanced for all that.

A touch reduced and spritzy with sweet lemon depth, slightly saline and perfumed blossom. Grew on me: maybe lacks a bit of personality but OK

Apple, pear, peach, white flowers with a mineral edge on the nose. Clean and concentrated on the palate, really good balance of fruit and acidity. Feels very Cote d'Or but it's very tasty
