The most open and the only wine in the Passopisciaro trio I was comfortable scoring, but nevertheless too early for prime time. Pungent soil nose. High acidity and clipped dudsy finish. 92/100
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Collector1855 had it spot on. Still very closed, not a crime to drink now if you are a “primary” kind of drinker. Morelo cherry nose. Dark raspberry palate. Very concentrated and complex but better in 3-5 years. 94/100
More open than the Chiniera but still very closed. Dark cherry and sandalwood. Very acidic. All of these 2010s are so brooding they need 5 more years at least…
Hay and pineapple nose. Pineapple and mineral palate. Very concentrated and balance. Like a baby Puligny 1er. Awesome and my WOTN beating all the top reds…93-94/100
2014 Passopisciaro Terre Siciliane Contrada Rampante
Italy, Sicily, Terre Siciliane
Deep tar and berry nose. Balsamic vinegar. Very structured. Too young amf hard to rate, but in another 5-10 years should be amazing.

2014 Passopisciaro Sicilia Contrada Sciaranuova
Italy, Sicily, Sicilia
More sandalwood and earthy than the Rampante. Dark berry and autumnal leaves. A little more open but still holding its cards and needs years.

Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Dark chocolate nose. Strawberry, cherry, chocolate finish. Tight but long finish. Hold for 10 years but the greatness is there. 93/100 for now.

Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo
Very muted nose. Either in an awkward phase or too young at this stage.
