Sit down tasting. Still oaky with lots of black fruit that is still holding well, even if not perfectly harmonious.

Sit down tasting. Old and dirty.

Single blind flight of Claude Dugat 1996 & 2000, Bernard Dugat 2000, followed by a double blind mystery companion. Balanced old Burgundy that is classically Gevrey with its rugged good textures, black fruit, leather, and meat. Very good length. Maybe better a few years back, but still very good.

Single blind flight of Claude Dugat 1996 & 2000, Bernard Dugat 2000, followed by a double blind mystery companion. Lots of nuance and complexity, this is charming but nearing the end of its peak drinking window. Not quite the level of density as the other wines in the flight.

Single blind flight of Claude Dugat 1996 & 2000, Bernard Dugat 2000, followed by a double blind mystery companion. My fav of the three single blinds. Ultra concentrated with wonderful balance. Rich black fruit, still nicely fresh. My only nit is a faint hint of near sweet spice that seemed out of place.

Single blind flight of Claude Dugat 1996 & 2000, Bernard Dugat 2000, followed by this wine as a double blind mystery companion. Wonderfully rich and meaty with dense black fruit. Good acidity and silky tannins for the vintage. Powerful, long finish. Great now, this will last a long time.

Single blind CdlR flight of Dujac 2010 & 2012, Rousseau 2012. Charming black and red cherry in an old school and less oaked manner with the emphasis on the lovely fruit that is both bright and ripe. Still firm. Others liked this more than I did,

Single blind CdlR flight of Dujac 2010 & 2012, Rousseau 2012. Elegant and charming right now, even if the lightest of the three wines in the flight. Whole cluster is slightly too dominant right now.

Single blind CdlR flight of Dujac 2010 & 2012, Rousseau 2012. Sexy, alluring, and lithe. Bright red fruit, supporting savory spice, just enough elegant tannins and acidity - all in perfect harmony. great balance and persistence. Maybe not the most dense vintage ever for this wine, but a great portrait of the vintage.

Sit down tasting. Dense and complex, not nearly as forthcoming as most 2010, , certainly disjointed. An odd bottle.

Sit down tasting. Slightly dirty, a bit madeirized, too

Sit down tasting. Elegant and pretty, showing its blonde side nicely. Good enough weight and density. Very good now.

2012 Egly-Ouriet Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé 90 Points
France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru
Tasting. Very Pinot centric flavors with rich berry nose and palate. Lots of power. The miniscule 1g dosage protrudes here, making this slightly too sharp. I know this is a culty wine, but I'm not in the cult even though I enjoy it.

2016 Roses de Jeanne / Cédric Bouchard Champagne Blanc de Blancs La Haute-Lemblé 93 Points
France, Champagne
Sit down tasting. Rich orchard fruit throughout with fresh and dried fruit notes, nicely layered and complex with wonderful balance. Very good now.

2021 Niepoort Douro Coche Branco Flawed
Portugal, Douro
Sit down tasting. This is so preposterously reductive to the point of being undrinkable. An embarrassing and horrible Frankenstein version of Coche-Dury.

2020 Joseph Colin Puligny-Montrachet Le Trézin 90 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet
Sit down tasting. Served to us double blind. Floral with ripe apple, some citrus, very good weight, slightly backward now, minerally finish. I thought its profile indicated Puligny 1er Cru, so didn't embarrass myself.
