My first visit. Love the old, deep cellar with cobwebs that seem centuries old.

  Barrel tasting at the domaine. Also ripe with more textural elegance, finessed finish, good length, especially for village wine. 87-89 points.

  Barrel tasting at the domaine. Big step up here in density and volume. Lots of red and black cherry, fleshy now with the substance to soften and age gracefully over two decades.

  Barrel tasting at the domaine. Perfumed start with firm structure, less classically like Volnay than the others, but the biggest of the Volnays.

  Barrel tasting at the domaine. This will be a great wine. Lots of red fruits, easily both ripe and bright. Very good length and spiced nose. 93-95 point potential here.

  Tasting at Lafarge. Certainly a step up. Bigger but on the firm side, not yet fun but the stuff to become fun, 2014 forward.

  Tasting at Lafarge. Floral and spiced with strawberry and boysenberry all around. Very good depth. Lots here, lots of structure to soften, cellar to 2018-2048.

  Tasting at Lafarge. A big step up here, this seems riper and more layered already, with the same stuffing as Ducs. This will also easily last a long time.

  Tasting at Lafarge. Complex red and black cherry, all well spiced with floral charm. Still fresh and bright with faint earth notes and a weightless finish of good intensity. Very kind of them to open. Much like the 2008 but obviously it has matured and started from a riper place.
