France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Blind, earthy, hint of red fruits, game, slightly rustic nose, palate a little thin initially but slowly gaining depth as time in the glass, some soy, whiff of violet.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Blinded, candied red fruits, strawberry and cherry, a little rustic on the palate with beautiful linearity, high focus acid, med tannins with some earth at the end. Youthful for its age.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Some funky initially which went away with air, good lift on the nose, whiff of stems, dark fruits, hint of violet, palate is beautiful rounded, touch of mint with lively focus acid with silk soft tannins. Palate more enjoyable than the nose at this stage.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Blind, good depth on the nose, chinese herbal, some ginseng with good freshness at the back, hint of mint with underlying red fruits. On the palate more secondary flavours showing, lovely ginseng like aromas. Drank this 9 years ago and was impressed with it. The green notes of 2004 integrated well and good fruits to support bringing complexity.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru
Blind, bright ruby in color, good fruits, touch of mint, orange peel, cherry, slight VA, violet, good freshness. Dense on the palate with touch bitterness on the finish. Tannins quite resolved. Not a fan of Vogue's wine but suppose it needs lots of age to show and this definitely showed well.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Blind, wow the nose! Layers of flavours that hit you, intense and elegant, mix of red and blue fruits, hint of coke. Similar on the palate with layers of pure flavours, excellent density, deep with rose, violet, backed with a good core binding the flavours. Stunning
