I tasted through the red wines first, followed by the whites, but organized my notes on all the wines by the producer.

Citrus and green apple with white pepper, ginger, spring flowers. Wonderfully bright textures keep everything standing up at attention. Very good now.

Wonderful richness of the vintage, so well spiced, with the restrained warmth of whole cluster. Great brightness offsetting the ripe balck and red berries, so balanced and so well resolved.

Glass sent over from the next table. Still wonderfully fresh with the charm the comes with snail’s-pace aging, this is engaging in an enticing and complex manner, yet still clearly lacking to some extent, the ripe fruit to effortlessly pull thst off. Still, very good now.

Big, very rich and fleshy but so easily balanced with brightening energy. Wonderful volume and depth.

Sadly a terrible restaurant Somm recommendation, this was very reductive to start (which we expected to dissipate) then even more massively reductive two hours later.

Another underwhelming Somm suggestion tonight. Ultra ripe on all fronts, this has a fine richness but lacks the balance or finesse I want from a from Gevrey lieu-dit, and I frankly don’t see this evolving into anything more exciting. If served blind, I would have thought it a tasty New World Pinot.

Wonderfully spiced with a rich combination of orchard and stone fruit, yet effortlessly in balance. At a great place now.

Popped-and-poured, more air would have helped. Started as as charming, earthy, all red, and balanced, this seemed at its peak. This blossomed with air, expanded, and increased in complexity and nuance. More minerality and spice were clear by the end, the earth had faded, and more robust structural support was coming through, too.

Small glass shared from the next table. Less classically Chablis right now, more opulently 2019, yet a mineral backbones ever-present. Very good tonight, but maybe even better with age.

Small glass shared from the next table. Enticingly spiced, surprisingly balanced and alluring right now. Rich black fruit with nearly sweet spice, all with just enough structure in the near background. Very tasty now with upside.

We walked into one of my favorite wine stores in the world and were offered a taste of this wonderful wine, great 2cm fill. Some cherry, more cranberry, but even more cranberry sauce from the way the wine has matured, sweetened and faintly madeirized. In no way powerful, but wonderfully complex.

Small glass. Bright red and black berries with lots of crunchy and wonderfully vibrant structure giving this even further lift. So charming already, even further potential as the faint baby fat fades away, 93-94 points, 2028 forward.

Berry and floral aromas with same berry flavors. Very crunchy textures are assertive without being overwhelming. Very good now.

Bright red and black berries with good weight for its level, supported with faint spice and floral notes. Palate is still slightly firm but approachable, fruit is more interesting than noticeably rich.
