Walkaround tasting with producers. Bottled in February. Persistent lack and red cherry aromas and flavors. Whole cluster contributes a fine spice and brightness, while the old vines give this good density. A bit taut on finish for now, 90+ point potential from 2028 forward.

Walkaround tasting with producers. Rich black fruits with good+ volume and spice. Also certainly ripe but enough concentration and structure to provide support. I haven't tasted this wine since the 2015 vintage, and am very excited on where this top notch Fixin is going. Plenty of upside here in 5+ years.

Walkaround tasting with producers. Still in cask. More black than red cherry, both ripe and lean fruit emerging, with faint meat notes. Less density came through and it turns out here the average vine age is "only" approx 40 years. Wonderful length with finesse. Very good with 92-94 point potential, starting a decade from now.

2022 Domaine Le Guellec-Ducouet Gevrey-Chambertin Les Jeunes Rois 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
(3/19/2024)
Walkaround tasting with producers. I have never seen/ tasted wine from this producer previously. They started in 2018 when they started making wine from these vineyards in Brochon that had been been sold to negociants. Fully destemmed, showing pure and rich black fruits with a meaty note. Large scaled for its level, slightly firm right now, but very good potential for its level.

2022 Domaine Le Guellec-Ducouet Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Champs 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
(3/19/2024)
Walkaround tasting with producers. I have never seen/ tasted wine from this producer previously. They started in 2018 when they started making wine from these vineyards in Brochon that had been been sold to negociants. Vineyard planted in 1930, 30% whole cluster was used here, 30% new oak, too, all fully harmonized. Dense black fruit with clear 1er Cru density. Dense black fruits are fully balanced with robust structure in the near background. Very good length.

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Volnay 1er Cru
(3/19/2024)
Walkaround tasting with producers. Bright red berries just in front of enticing floral and spice notes. Palate is less easily accessible than the aromas, but still bright and powerful, even if finishing with some muscle that will soften with more time. Very good 93-94 point potential, 2028 forward.

2022 Francois Feuillet Morey St. Denis 88 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis
(3/19/2024)
Walkaround tasting with producers. Red and black cherry with lots going on for Village wine. This might be medium+ weight, but has nicely weightless textures that come across as elegantly Chambolle-like to me. Upside from here. I believe this must be the same wine as the David Duband bottling.

2022 Francois Feuillet Charmes-Chambertin
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
(3/19/2024)
Walkaround tasting with producers. An intense old vine character with lots of complex elements in the background. 40% new oak and 90% whole cluster, but both easily in the background. Wonderful fresh black cherry, berry, and plum with savory spice, faint meat, and so much more. This will reward cellar time and even more will surely emerge. 93-94 point potential. I believe this must be the same wine as the David Duband bottling.
