Wednesdays became a little easier when we decided to begin drinking Burgundy every Thursday. We haven't missed a Thursday in over five years.
Tonight with the coq au vin, 05 Savigny-Les-Beaune "Les Lavieres" Louis Chenu Père et Filles

It's a very happy tradition--Cheers to all!

A great tradition! How come I never thought of something like that. After Prince Spaghetti day there are still six days left in the week that need sponsorship.

Thanks--I just checked my email and found the thing from Chambers. Is it still illegal for me to sell one of my kidneys...?

Finally home from Thanksgiving dinner at the Clampetts. Burgundy Thursday this week will just be a parade of kirs, made with my only remaining Creme de Cassis from a previous Beaune trip. Time to save for new plane tickets.

Mini offline with dontime at The Wine Barn in Orlando (missed you Chris--HRH drank your share). 05 Chanbolle-Musigny Vv, Vincent Girardin, plus assorted glasses poured by a visiting peddler man.
Girardin had lots of barnyard (Brett?) And still a little heavy handed on the oak, Vincent. Still an enjoyable bottle and great company.
Don't worry about next week Old Doug--I'm still standin'

Nice, making my beef burgundy tomorrow with a bottle of 1991 Vosnes Romanee (Daniel Bocquenet) I found in my grandma's cellar a few month back.

The Vosne Romanee is not used for the sauce, a cheap $6 Burgundy from Trader Joes will do the job.

Bocquenet also likes the oak but I really like his wines. Post some TNs please

I keep thinking of grilled scallops so I'm thinking Meursault or maybe Chassagne

In Brooklyn, do they say, "Boigundy," or is that only the Three Stooges or something?

well the 1996 Comte was absolutely on tip top form. Pretty much at the top of its game right now, with a dash too much alcohol and too little acid for the longer game. Ummmmm

A blind tasting of Burgs from the Confrerie's cellars tonight.

I will (try) not shame myself by making any SWAG's  - which means I'll be werry, werry quiet tonight.
Shhhhh, I'm hunting burgundies...

You and your offlines Bryan - sounds wonderful :-) Bet the Leflaive was AMAZING!

I opened, quite by accident, a ncie Faiveley Echezeaux 1999 which was drinking very well, though still very youthful...
