This was a pretty fun event, and our own Hollowine helped organize (he determined which bottles would be on each of the two tables). My tasting notes are only for the wines that were on my table.

The event came about by me spouting-off on wineberserkers.com that "Saxum is not the end-all be-all" for Central Coast CA Rhone-style wines. I said I would love the opportunity to pit a couple of my "field" selections against some Saxums in a BLIND tasting. The idea caught-on quickly, so we made it happen!

My notes for this event can be found here: http://www.cellartracker.com/event.asp?iEvent=12059

scott couldn't make it, nor could yoni. cris was there.

you gotta get over to wineberserkers.com, bob -- anyone who wanted to attend was able to merely by RSVP'ing. you're missing out on lots of cool stuff, dude.

Attendees and judges at our table:

1. Bruce W. (our own "bweimer" ... Bruce was the guy who brought the otherworldly '05 Alban )
2. Cris. W (our own "Wetrock")
3. Me
4. my wife, Ashley
5. Brian B. (not sure if Brian ever checks-in here)
6. Bob D. (not on this board)
7. Bob D.'s wife
8. Chris W. (she's not on this board)

All 8 tasters/judges are experienced.

That's questionable.

Unfortunately, no. Work has been nuts and I got to watch their fun develop from my hotel room in Detroit.

There will be a redo someday when I get down there, and I'll make sure my friend Bob gets an invitation...
