Dr. M and I will be in Dallas on Friday 2/15 and have a free night if its not too late to yell "Olly, olly oxen free!" We are staying at the Fairmont downtown... I'm bringing my collections committee to visit the museums and private collections of Dallas/FW. Fully understand the Valentine's Day conflict. Just wanted to toss it out.

It'd be great to pop a couple corks with you and Dr. M! Your free night is on Friday night?

Urbano or Citrus are cool - both are great BYOB places....
Mrs. BtR is on board, too!

If it is Friday night 2/15, I can make it too. The Mrs. will be in Austin looking at our daughter's new apartment for the next Fall/Spring semester.

I'm in your town... You know the restaurant scene better than me. We will be in Fort Worth all day and should be back at the hotel by 6:30-7:00... Unless traffic snarls arise. The Fairmont in on North Akard in the museum district in Dallas. Glad to see some locals are willing to help this poor oil' boy from Gawga!

oskiwawa or BTR, can one of you run with this. I am over booked right now myself. Joe D hasn't checked in yet but it looks like we are at 6 right now.

I'll take it on. Will make a reservation at Citrus Bistro. Reasonably close to where Musedir is staying and a lot quieter than Urbano. Will make the reservation for 7:15. Right now the way I look at it we have 7 of us. Anyone else want in before I make the reservation ?

Musedir, Citrus is best known for seafood but they also have a beef / veal dish or two if that is preferred. Dress is pretty much smart to business casual. They have reasonable stemware so no need to worry about bringing any. We can pick you up at the hotel and drop you back off if you do not want to drive.

Make the reservation for 7:30 to be safe.

I'm in and I think PURPLE will be as well.

Tom - if it's the same ritual that GalvezGuy put me through last year my prayers are with you and Dr. M.

From what I hear Madame Thérèse Defarge also saw herself as an interested observer...

musedir, I assume you'll have a rental car?

My two cents worth to the group concerning wines is bubbles, pinks and whites. If you feel compelled to bring a red make it a Pinot. Bring Bordeaux and California Cabernet at your own peril.

No.. We do not. As I have a sizable group on this trip, we have chartered a bus for our TR/FR day trips. Easier that way. If the hotel is out of the way, I am sure we can get a cab.

Has anyone tried the Force Majeure Viognier yet? If no, I would be happy to pack a bottle. Not sure what the second will be as yet. Menu looks more than tasty.

Wow, pink, bubbly Texans ... Who knew?

Seriously, wish I could join you as my daughter lives about 30 minutes SW of Fort Worth. I need to get out there to visit, but the wife and I will be in Cabo on Feb 15th. I will keep an eye out for the next offline and perhaps schedule a visit.

Tom, do not drink all their wine. I hope to follow a similar path sometime around the 4th of July week.

I am a mere amateur among the lions.... I seriously doubt if I will be doing much damage with the ever-observant Dr. M nearby... Still, one never knows. I mean, it is Texas!

I for one would love for you to bring the Force Majeure Viognier. I love a good Viognier.

You coming down to enter the spat between the Nasher and Museum Tower? Hot topic around here.

Look forward to meeting you.

That's a no-winner, no brainier scenario. Nasher is screwed but that leg is there to stay. Solutions are way too expensive... But I do see legal intervention soon. Glad that's not one of my own headaches!

Informed Dr. M of this development and got that look that we all know so well... When I explained that Friday was a "dinner on your own" evening she softened a mite. But once she gets in the mix she's a Jersey Peach!

Bump... No new news... Just feeling the excitement of joining you for the evening. Any changes? Should we plan to get a cab from hotel to Citrus? Are we staying white or going mixed? Finally, how much do our Dallas winos know about WA wines? Any interest in obscurity? Rotie? Trust? Buty? Sleight of Hand? DeLille? Just checking...

Looking forward to meeting everyone. Should we invite another couple who are with us, would that be a problem? Wine neophytes but always ready to learn. If yes, no problem as I have not extended any invitations as yet.

Tom
