Cayuse store opened on the 23rd. Same allocation in year 3 as last year's purchase. I ordered right away hoping for better wishlist success. Seems like they give you something if possible and roll in the next year. How'd you all do?

Nothing added this year but typically mine were added from the wish list at the end of the process, and then it was in regular offering the next year. I am paring back on purchases so declined Widowmaker and #8 Mag. I declined GOK last year and of course I was not offered it this year.

Added Impulsivo which was odd, normally get new stuff in the wishlist period.

Same as last year's offering:
Armada and the Wallah Wallah mag

I dropped the Cailloux and didn't order the mag last year; I'll do the same order this year as last: just the Armada.

Looking to sell my allocation of Bionic Frog, GOK, Special Mag #8, and EN CHAMBERLIN. Also, have back vintages of Armada, En Cerise, GOk.

mcapece, this is not a commerce forum. Please refrain from trying to sell wines here. (The rules are posted pretty clearly.)

No Cayuse for me either... but then I'm not on their mailing list and have never tried to get on it.

Tried to get on the list but not sure it ever took hold. Anyway, no Frog for me.

Also, I did not win the lottery - again. But, I did not buy a ticket either.

Frugal one here just checked the prices on WineSearcher. No point in getting on the list. Would not order...too many other good deals out there.

On too many lists anyway, but don't have to buy. If I start over and go to the end of the line, there's always something...

But it sure is fun!

If I were to source Cayuse through wine-searcher, what bottles and vintage would I want to pay attention to? I quite enjoy Syrah from The Rocks AVA that are 100% Syrah or have a small percentage of Viognier.

I currently have a GOK in my cellar aging but certainly paid a hefty premium to get it.

Thanks.

David,

Cayuse is one of the wines I really feel does well in both "great" and "off" vintages, I think the style and winemaking give it the ability to show consistently each vintage.

If you are looking for great vintages, 2007, 2008, 2012 are super vintages but may come with a tariff. 2012 is my bet for the long haul, I went long in 2012

I think you will get more satisfaction and bang for the buck if you avoid GOK and Bionic Frog. Watch for some Cailloux or En Cerise / En Chamberlain vineyard, you might be able to nab some at a reasonable price and these are great vineyards and showcase much of what Cayuse is about.

Good luck!

I think an '07 En Cerise was the first wine I bought from Story Teller. He had 3@$75 and I kick myself in the butt for not buying all 3.

I would echo Hollowine, and go with one of the single vineyards. If the price is similar for Armada (to the other single vineyards), I would grab that one. I have had some Armada that I think are as good, if not better, than the Frog.

For those with allocations, when does the ordering window close? I'm still on the waitlist and I haven't been notified yet that there is no wine for me. I'm trying to gauge whether I should keep my hope up.

Given what BF sells for retail, that's an insanely good mailing list price. It irks me when I later find wines at retail for less than what I paid for the mailing list releases (looking at you, Reynvaan).

Yes, Cayuse tends to hold value quite well, and on BF it is an incredibly generous price. (I hope they don't read this and increase prices more though!)

I don't believe so. But I guess I don't really know what their wish list policy is. My limited experience is that I have been more likely to get a wishlist request if I order early in the buying window then near the end. Perhaps others on the board can chime in about their understanding of how the wish list works.
