So I had one where grabbed not the first bottle of the night, it was dark, and didn't have glasses on and instead of yanking a $50 1er burg that was a few years old I grabbed a new release Gran Cru burg and popped it open. Dang vintage labels on the back. :)

drank - 2017 Maison Harbour Charmes-Chambertin Aux Charmes
meant to open - 2014 Maison Harbour Gevrey-Chambertin La Justice

What have you opened by mistake?

Once, I accidentally pulled & opened a 1999 Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin GC when I thought it was a 2005 Ponsot Bourgogne. They were right next to each other on the same shelf in a Danby.

Usually a can of worms!

Meant to open a 2013 Beta CS Vare Vineyard, but opened the 2013 Beta CS Montecillo Vineyard by mistake. Turns out in my shuffling around in the storage locker I pulled two 2013 Beta CS Montecillos instead of one of each for early consumption. I mean the barricade tape label looks identical for both.

Meant to open a 2011 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso but grabbed the 2010 Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso PrePhylloxera La Vigna di Don Peppino. In the dark, the difference in the labels is pretty subtle.

It was a delicious mistake!

I once brought a Pichon Lalande to a Pichon Baron vertical tasting. Just careless in grabbing the wrong bottle. Embarrassing, but not a big deal in terms of monetary value.

Mostly just the wrong vintages of things. Fortunately nothing too terrible.

FWIW I found the 2017 Maison Harbour wines to be quite accessible. Would still have rather seen another 5-7 years on that one though.
