me too--it was soft and elegant
I did a coconut rice pudding for dessert and saved a glass for afterward because of the faint coconut notes in the wine--wonderful

Today, we felt so given up on Pinot noir altogether that wife and I decided to go to 1 star Ichi E in hiroo and only drink tea. Maybe we return to PN again in a year's time...

Right on the cusp actually and going nowhere fast. Not in the same league as the Roulot.

Reporting for duty, SIR!!!!

Had a lovely 2002 Savigny Le Beaune that was the cheapest burg in the shop (at "well under a pony" in cockney rhyming slang or £20 to everyone else). Really great stuff.

https://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=51886

But certainly not a 2007 DRC Ezchezaux. Damn it......how did that one happen Drycab? Details details. Come on. Not many CT folks here tread the DRC path.

Aren't the mts a pleasure to experience? Hope you and HRH have a great weekend. Sounds like you're off to a good start.

Note to self: remember to kidnap tacman as soon as he lands at Heathrow Airport. Hide the body. Keep the wine.

My wife keeps asking me what we are going to do this weekend, I may have just found the answer. Find some rich people with good wine to hang out with.

Well, we went to dinner at what is considered by a few as the best restaurant in the States so I had to come up with a wine that wouldn't disgrace us!

Subtract the Chapoutier but keep the 99 Ampuis
add
99 Run Rig
00 Shafer Relentless

Having drycab or tacman (or at least their DRC) would have rounded off the evening well. Lacking that we did 10 yr Whistlepig Rye and 28 yr Hirsch Bourbon
Mischief managed
I wonder what's on tap for today...?

I still say, and agree with Tac, that the 2007 DRC's are drinking very well young. The food...well the food was amazing!

Was in Voiron Thursday July 19th and had dinner with a co-worker + his lovely partner at thier flat.

For dinner we had a very nice 2002 Corton Grand Cru as well as some local wines with local food that they prepred.

I recall having a young Hermitage, afterall, we were in Rhone country.
We had a still white w/ raspberry liquor with fruit/nuts, and demi-sec local sparkling wine with our cheese course.
A Chatreuse liquor, which is made locally for dessert, with a fresh apricot souffle'.

My past 2 Thurs dinners have been awesome.

Tonight, after a good night sleep from the audacious flight back from Lyon we had another Pinot: 2002 Barthod Chambolle-Musigny.

Not sure what is on tap for this Thurs. but so far July has been a great month for drinking Pinot, not to mention the outlandish BDX over the past 2 weeks
(95' Latour, Haut Brion, Mouton @ rls party, and the 95' Margaux w/ drycab, 90 Mouton. + I snuck in a 89' St Estephe for dinner last week in Moirans, Fr w/ co-workers at the Lake).
