I don't drink a lot of Burgundy (because just the name "Burgundy" seems to up the price by 30-100%), but this Thursday evening I've been enjoying a bottle of 2020 Domaine Chevrot Bourgogne Sakura. Interesting, albeit not great QPR.

Yes, Burgundy Thursday it was. 1995 Ponsot Chapelle-Chambertin was about as good as you could ask for. Nicely resolved yet still decent acidity, lotsa dark cherry & pomegranate with cinnamon & spice plus just a hint of dried leaves and mushroom. A few years ago I surmised that it was in a great spot and would be enjoyable over the next few years, and this bottle was showing signs of the beginning of being just past peak, so I'm glad this is our last one.

2009 Maison Ilan Chambertin

I’ll enjoy having the cellar space back more than I did drinking this.
It was better two years ago

Burgundy has become so expensive (even Bouchard's Beaune du Chateau) that my wife and I usually drink Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Sta. Rita Hills region, instead (sometimes Brewer-Clifton).

Thanks, I think, SI.

As far as Burgundian Chardonnay goes, our club recently had a well-priced 2016 Maison Champy Chardonnay Bourgogne Cuvee Edme for sale. My wife and I did not get any, but it seems to have a good QPR (though perhaps not as good a QPR as that of the unoaked Excelsior Chardonnay from South Africa that we often drink, especially my wife).

2017 Boillot Volnay - Although this was an infant, it was extremely enjoyable with 20 minutes of air. Beautiful after opening up.

I have found a Gevrey-Chambertin which seems to be a good value, so I bought a bottle, but I will have to wait about 10 days more before opening it.

I have found a Montagny white and at least one Gevrey-Chambertin red which I plan to taste soon, as they look like good values.
