Dress code? Golf shorts and polos OK? Jeans? Slacks? Wranglers, brush-poppers and leather vests?

I don't know if Hudson's has a dress code. I would expect no shorts and shirt with a collar. I don't think they require a jacket. DaddyO?

Hudson's is Hill Country Casual...i don't think there is a code per se but if you were shorts you will look and feel out of place.

The Ranch has no code...just dress comfortable...the dining setting will be very very nice. The proprietor will probably be in jeans and a cowboy hat...but looking sharp.

I'll share my planned attire but I'm not going to escort anyone to the ladies room...

I'll be light weight khaki's on both nights with short sleeved collar of some variety.

Typical attire at Hudson's is business casual on up...

Ranch is dress comfy but a Nascar t-shirt and flip flops might get you a seat at the kids table with a happy meal.

I was going to go with khakis and a button down.

I have a question about blinding the wines. Is someone going to blind them so that we don't even know if we are drinking our own wines? Or are going to know what our wines are but have no clue on the rest of the pack?

GG. what I usually do is have everybody take their bottles to a designated out of sight area and simply bag and leave their wines there. Then I have somebody who hasn't been in there go in and shuffle the bottles around at random and then number them 1 through X. That usually gets the job done.

I'll bring the bags and deliver them to the rooms of folks who have declared.   We are getting there one day early so no issue with time.  We can have someone lable them A-X or 1-15 ( or whatevever ) after they are bagged.   Really looking forward to this one.

Thanks WIML, I knew there had to be an easier way than the one in my head. Also, it reminds me that it is time to stand those oldsters up.

Quick feedback on final notes...

My +3 on Saturday is only +1 on Friday (that is...i will only have my wife with me on Friday and an additional wine couple to introduce to everyone on Saturday...I expect him to bring some wine but i will supplement additionally)

Another quick comment...

I don't recommend open toed shoes/sandles/etc... for Saturday at the Ranch.

If you have any interest in walking around you will want something closed toe

I was planning on getting some nice dump buckets but if you have some please bring.

I will have a fair amount of Castleman Cellars Saturday evening beyond just a taste...I will probably bring some Friday night as well as the Sommelier and i have spoken about him getting a little update tasting on some of my cabs he hasn't tried.

I made a preliminary cut at what I'd like to bring. Got it down to 25 bottles. Now to figure out how to cut it to a case.

Quick Saturday update...

The bus is picking up at 5pm at the Holliday Inn Express...it is schedule to depart at a time that puts it back at the Holiday Inn Express at 11pm (should leave Ranch around 10:15)

If there is any decision to delay the ranch departure the only charge $110 per additional hour which includes all fees and gratuities.

Hate to do this at the last minute, but there's changes to my wine list because I just could not find my two Mondavi's. My final list is as follows:

jar1
2009 Kongsgaard Chardonnay The Judge
1977 Gould Campbell Porto Vintage
1994 Beringer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve (Replacement for the 1994 Mondavi)
1997 Beringer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve
2001 Casanova di Neri brunelo tenuta
2003 pegau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée reservee

The 1997 Mondavi To-Kalon has been replaced by the following Châteauneuf-du-Pape:
2005 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
2005 Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape
2004 pegau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée reservee
2005 Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de mon Aïeul

I really need to build a cellar because offsite storage is just a headache when trying to locate a particular bottle(s).

Just a reminder to everyone...there is no shuttle tonight. That will be tomorrow night.

Tonight it will take you 20 - 30 minutes depending on traffic to reach Hudson on the Bend from the hotel.

I will be there a bit early to confirm that all is ready for our large group.
