My educated guess as well. Covington. I loath CF with green /Bell Pepper, seems to be absent with this one. And the review is Owen Bargreen, our tastes are similar on reds (vice Suckling, subtract 3-5 points)

The redacted 34 Champagne is Charles Ellner. Any thoughts on the Bordeaux Blend are greatly appreciated.

My guess is 2017 Bergevin Lane Moonspell Cabernet Saugignon. "Varietal Content 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Pet Verdot & 1% Merlot. " However this does NOT match "60% Bergevin Springs Vineyards, 37% Les Collines Vineyard , and 3% XL" CT 94 (1 note), Vivino 4.0 (600+) https://bergevinlane.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/TN17MoonspellCS_New.pdf I could be wrong (some tiny winery I didn't find).

Quite a rabbit hole on this one, including my misreading the grape sourcing the first time around (not just XL, estate plus XL). Here is the path I followed

I ignored any Precept or CSM brands, as well as any I frequently see from FP (like Saviah). There are 3 key clues (besides the wine description of $35 2017 90% CS, + Cab Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, in that order):

- "A Walla Walla Valley stalwart (a winery entering its third decade of operations in the valley), but not a regular in the Full Pull lineup" so founded 2002 to 1992, probably closer to 2000 - and a WW winery (slight chance not by the wording but I'll assume so)
- "A full 60% is from estate fruit,... next largest chunk comes from XL Vineyard" XL Website down but we have the Wayback Machine. And they have to own an estate vineyard.
- "We’ve offered two wines from this winery: one in 2016, one in 2020. [T]he majority of their production is gobbled up by their winery mailing list and wine club." = lots of folks eliminated since FP has carried them, or widely available

Looking at the XL Vineyard website in The Wayback Machine (archive.org) 2018 they list the following wineries as using their grapes (and very likely others) 2018:
x Bridge Press Cellars (Spokane)
x Doubleback Winery (Bledsoe)
x Dunham Cellars
x Dusted Valley Winery
El Corazon Winery (open?)
Five Star Cellars 2000
x Rasa Vineyards
x Reininger Winery
x Sweet Valley Wines founded 2004 or 2007
(plus Eternal Wine 2014)

Looking at some of my old wine reference books for WW wineries 92-02 - 2004 Washington Wine Country - WW & 2003 Northwest Wine Guide

Winery too old:
Leonetti Cellars
Woodward Canyon Winery
L'Ecole No. 41
Seven Hills

Possibilities:
x Abeja 2003 (2018 offer)
x Amavi 2001 (lots fo offers)
Basel Cellars 2001 (Closed, Ywllow Hawk Resort) - but a maybe
x Beresan 2001 - many offers
***** Bergevin Lane 2001 (offer in 2016)
x Balboa 2004 (lots of FP offers)
Colvin Vineyards 1999 (? Not finding any FP offers)
x Cougar Crest Winery 2001 (commonly available)
x Dunham Cellars 1995 (2021 offer)
x Forgeron Cellars 2001 (2019 offer)
x Glen Fiona 1995 - too old
x Isenhower Cellars 1999 (lots of offers)
x James Leigh Cellars 2001
Morrison Lane 2002 (hmm, lots of mention of the vineyard, but not the winery)
x Nicholas Cole Cellars 2001 - dead
x Rulo Winery 2000 (no FP hits on 2016)
x Russell Creek Winery 1998 (no FP hits)
x Reininger 1997 (lots of offers)
x Stephenson Cellars 2000 (no FP)
x Syzygy - no FP?
x Tamarack Cellars 1998 (commonly available)
x Three Rivers - 1999 (commonly available)
Via Piano 2003
x Walla Walla Vintners 1995 (commonly available)
x Waters 2003 (commonly available)
x Whitman Cellars 1999 (went BQ)
x Yellow Hawk Cellar 1998 (closed)
x Zerba Cellars 2003 (no FP)

Obviously not:
K Vintners 1999
Cayuse 1997
Pepper Bridge 1998
Buty 2000 (closed, so not entering anything)
Saviah 2000 - lots of FP offerings

Not in Walla Walla but use XL grapes
Marshall Davis List $39 ($29 Esquin), available Carlton OR. FP Offered this wine in 2020 $30
Jacob Williams - only finding a 2018 - Columbia Gorge & McMinnville

[the above are my note looking this up].

Wow. Impressive work.

Fwiw-El Corazon is still open. I was there in 2012 and follow it on Facebook still because they were very fun. It seemed like a side gig to me because tasting hours were haphazard or when they happened to be there. I recall a really good and cheap bottle of either Syrah or GSM and quality overall being good. Edit to add: I doubt they have estate fruit.

This is my guess for Redacted #45. https://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=3799708

Estate vineyard is Konnowack.

I have not tasted this wine, but I did taste through Pomum's current releases back in the spring. Always solid wines imo, and Pomum label is step up imo from their sister label Idilico.

If I needed to fill a case at Full Pull, or needed some cellar defenders (I don't on either case), I'd grab a few of these.

Today's Redacted # 57 has to be the 2017 Brian Carter Cellars Solesce. I'm resisting, but it's being offered for $60 elsewhere, and this offer is at $24.99.

Another “Redacted” offer today:

Redacted 59: 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley - $49.99 (FPP $19.99)

Didn’t find anything completely authoritative on this one in my brief initial search; however, found enough circumstantial to conclude it’s this one:

https://www.cellartracker.com/classic/wine.asp?iWine=3872401

I know that FP has offered quite a few Lauren Ashton wines, so that fits with the offer text. The review listed includes a 2023-2043 drinking window, which is consistent with the Dunnock review (as is the winery list price) per Jeb’s site:

https://jebdunnuck.com/wines/709333/

Per this page, the vineyard list is all Red Mountain vineyards (again, consistent with the offer text). And the listed alcohol is also consistent:

https://laurenashtoncellars.orderport.net/product-details/0213/2018-Cabernet-Sauvignon

If anyone has full access to JD’s reviews, that would be an easy way to confirm. But I didn’t see any other wine that were likely candidates given the info in the offer letter. As always, just my $0.02. YMMV.

Thanks. I was mildly tempted, and now will avoid further temptation. The only LA wines I have ever tried have been from Full Pull, and they all have underachieved for my taste.

Thanks Mike! I wonder why this is having a hard time selling since it is Matt Reynvaan, but who am I to question why. I was in for 2 before the clue dropped, added 2 more to my request.

Thanks for the heads-up on this one. I've long wanted to try the MTR wines, but I have a ton of Reynvaan in my cellar, so always passed. The pricing on this offer is too good to pass up, so I also requested 4.

I got my 4 bottles, picked up last Thursday, that are indeed MTR.

I know I have flogged Full Pull for years, but would be remiss to not mention that while there Thursday we had a long chat with Damn Paul. His kids are now 7 and 5, and had just returned from the Jersey Shore. I'm using a walker to get around, so we described my wreck and recovery of course. While we were tasting the mystery wine, I accurately guessed Bordeaux-Right Bank but missed the vintage, Paul slipped couple of bottles into our boxes as a "get well" gift. A nice champagne and a Barolo. Very kind and generous gesture.

Any guesses on Redacted 62? Walla Walla producer using 2019 Boushey Syrah. My first guess would be K Vintners, but that is pretty uneducated and not researched.

ETA, K Motor City Kitty is not correct. Notes and score and, even price, don't match. I'll keep digging.

ETA2: Berserkers peg it as Forgeron Anvil. Matches here, https://www.anvilbyforgeron.com/syrah I've bought a couple of Forgeron from Full Pull in past and always very pleased. Very solid wine making; I think I read something about that changing, but likely same as I remember from 2019.

ETA3: Winemaker changed after 2017. From their web site

"Marie Gilla was brought in as a partner and founding winemaker and led Forgeron Cellars from its first vintage in 2001 through 2017, when she was replaced by her longtime protégé, Cody Janett. Marie's expertise in old-world-style winemaking proved an excellent foundation for Forgeron's aim to produce site-specific and varietally-correct wines, and as a result, during her tenure the winery gained a loyal following of consumers and critics alike."

New Redacted offer today, REDACTED 66, a 2018 Syrah from Walla Walla Valley. This is obviously a very common Redacted candidate, so I immediately thought either Lauren Ashton or Saviah, but those (I don't think) seem to fit the bill. There is another really frequent Redacted winery, but I can't remember what it is, darn it. One 93 point review suggests Sean Sullivan in that it's an, "Editors Choice" and he uses that and used that at WE. The discount is really nice too, but I'm still not sure.

Yeah, I pegged it as W T Vintners. I enjoyed the last WTV redacted, a boushey blend, but no room at the inn currently for me.

La Rata. Thought I would ask for 4 this time around expecting to get my normal 2. I got 4.

Hmmm, wonder if the demand is down or if I've soared back to the top of FP leaderboard!

I used to get it every year but passed on it. I haven’t thought it aged well. I like a bit more acidity. I also have access to No Girls and Cayuse now so I’d rather use the money for this style of wine on those that I think are better.

Thanks. I had pegged it as Destiny Ridge since I remember Alexandria Nicole Block 1 Syrah. WT is a solid producer with lots of excess inventory from the pandemic era. I broke my 2 day Moratorium for a sixer at $15/bottle.

I talked with Damn Paul a bit about the redacted series a) it's become immensely popular among his list members, and b) the producers care not at all that they get "outed" on the wine forums, they just want to move the inventory, even if at a loss.

My guess would be WT Vintners Seven Springs because that producer has shown up a lot in these lately, but haven't done any actual research to confirm.

Edit: Okay, confirmed it is the 2017 W.T. Vintners Pinot Noir Seven Springs Vineyard. The quoted review matches what Full Pull sent to my inbox on May 31, 2022, offering this same wine when it was not redacted.

Tough to guess (imo) redacted wine #72...

quote:

Redacted 72: 2021 White Wine Columbia Valley - $39.99 (FPP $17.99)
First important note: like all the wines in our Redacted series, this one will come with the original winery label intact, so you will learn the producer and the exact wine the moment you pick up the wine or receive your shipment. Now, some notes and clues about this wine:

I’ll admit right up front that this might be the shortest offer ever in the Redacted Series. This is a wine from a premium vineyard, a site that would not normally be discounted (in fact, I’ve never seen it discounted), and was only priced aggressively to us due to a breakup between winery and vineyard.

It’s a single variety from a single vineyard. I can’t say a thing about the vineyard (need to protect that relationship), but I can say a little about the variety.

It’s a Rhone variety. It’s not Viognier. (Yeah, that’s it. Told you it would be a short one!)

It was aged in two French oak puncheons. One of them was new.

There are two reviews out there from the regulars: one at 92pts, one at 94pts. The 94pt review calls out the wine's "seamless texture" and posits that "this is the finest edition of this wine" produced to date.

This one kicks off with an expressive nose indeed: white melon and lemon peel, mineral and salty marcona almond. Complex and inviting to be sure. It’s a terrific winter white, lavishly-fruited (14.4% listed alc) and appealingly rich. It drinks a bit like a Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, conveying that region’s magic trick of pairing fruit impact and palate saturation to acid-driven energy, no easy feat in new-world winemaking. This is texturally gorgeous, devilishly complex, and above all else, balanced. While I wish I could say more, I know that those of you who take a flier on this one will be handsomely rewarded.

The "marcona almond" tasting note sounds like Marsanne to me. Boushey vineyard might be a guess but plenty of other redacted wines from there. Hmm....
