We did a trail 1/2 marathon yesterday, starting temp was around 15 and finishing temp was 20. Add in a few creek crossings and the cold I had coming on, I am now staying home sick.

Nice job on the 1/2 marathon. Those are tough temps to race in, especially when you are used to much warmer.

So up and attem’ on this fine winter Hump Day! 2” of snow outside, 19F... feels like 10F. Truly sucks. On the other hand, Dr. M has a snow day!

7 degrees F this morning, which is warmer than the 2 degrees when we went to bed, and heavily overcast. I'm tired of winter.

Someone send me some Mediterranean sunshine.

The snow is just starting to lightly coat the car and the lawn here. Fun stuff, eh?

Truly sucks.

Suck it up buttercup.
We were expecting 4" overnight and only got a dusting. 32F air temp already.
I may not have to shovel/snowblow today at all.

It's colder here in central KY (9F) than it is in Chicago (11) or Toronto (14). We were expecting a dusting, and got 4".

Well, now we know that Chris' snow paid a visit to Eddie. Mystery solved!

It's a nice balmy 53 here in O-town on it's way up to 64. But supposed to be down to 31 tonight so time to cover the plants. Not complaining though, it's a very nice break from the brutal summertime temps/humidity. Good day to all!!!

Definitely NOT BBQ weather I won't comment on the weather here in San Diego Got an early start. Watching the stock market and then off to my daily workout. I'm rather enjoying this new routine of Far Niente.

Was -3.5 degrees this AM outside of Chicago. My arm is still sore from shoveling.

At the moment it is 14 degrees with a nasty wind and i am looking forward to a slight warm-up in these upcoming days.

Wawa has been running a special - any size coffee for $1. The largest is 24 oz. That's 2 or 3 days of coffee for me! The best part is they have both French Vanilla flavored coffee and flavored creamer, so I can make one for my wife and one for me, then stick it in the fridge for iced coffee. It's about as good, and much less expensive, than those bottles of Starbucks. It's probably cheaper than if we made it at home too.

Finally up. It’s another melancholy Thursday for any who are wondering. That spite of flu and colds have reached into Dr. M’s land and she is a miserable patient going on 2 days now. Not how she wanted to spend her snow days...

So I’m sitting here sipping Kauai from a single origin estate. Nice gift from a good bud.

Hope everybody is safe and well.

Awoke to a strange site in these parts, the fountain on my patio is frozen solid. But it will be back in the 70's for the weekend. What a strange winter this one.

A rare day off from the infirmary. Sipping coffee from Australia and planning house chores.

Have a house full of tropicals, which make the trip inside in the late fall and back outside in April/May. Coffee plants, mango, avocado, citrus and a few cacti. My palm tree died, so will need a new planting in the spring.

Sun is out so i would expect the snow to start melting when it warms up later in the day. Weird winter weather for sure. I remember January never having temps above freezing.

Weird weather for FL indeed. Typical weather for Chicago indeed.

Hello to all. Morning Thunder tea for morning and afternoon works. Hopefully warm-water swim today is reward for getting in 2 decent gym/strength training days this week. Trying to hang on to the strength that I have. It is challenging, but worthwhile. And perusing the many wine offers coming in this week. Only 1 purchase so far. Noted that Myriad apparently sold out in 24 hours, but had already decided against that. Just too far above my pay grade to take a flyer on the wine.

DonTime, maybe tea with honey and lemon? Maybe a hot toddy tonight w/your spirit of choice?

Hope all have a good day.

Cheers!

Seems unusual to be first active user, given my left coast location. Good morning to all. Partly sunny day, 40% chance of showers this evening. Will believe it if I see it.

Off to do errands involving beer for Dear Husband among other things. Our fav LWS features craft brews, but he was there yesterday and selection was most disappointing. Will see if BevMo is much better. Not ususally good prices, but some items look reasonable.

DonTime, and Dr. M via MuseDir, hope you are recuperating. This year's flu outbreak is nasty.

Hope all have a good day. Morning tea, evening wine:

Cheers!

We had a lovely dinner last night at the Holly Hill Inn after our wine-tasting. Our wine at dinner was a 2005 Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva Rioja, which was every bit as good as I remember it from our last bottle, and which impressed everyone at the table.

Good afternoon. Bought Winter Wake Up Tea at TJs yesterday. Not bad for the price. Reminds me of Chai and Constant Comment.

Outside it's sunny and cool. Had a bit of mist last night, but I wouldn't dignify it to the level of rain.

Planning some Wine Tetris this weekend, and watching the last half of "Battle of Britain" with Dear Husband tonight. A Vouvray to be finished, with most of cooking outsourced to TJs. Diego Restaurant Week coming up next weekend so may do takeout from the offers.

Quiet Weekend Cheers!

Took a little morning drive to Orange County to pick up some Syrahs from two wine stores I like. Wine Exchange and Hi Times Cellars. Traffic here gets worse & worse. Counting my days here. Now heading to gym for my daily workout. Wife & daughter went to Palm Springs so nice relaxing day solo.
