Never heard of Loring. A small southern California (Buellton) Pinot and Chardonnay producer. Had a 2013 Loring Garys' Vineyard Pinot Saturday night at a restaurant in the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas. That's the Garys' Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands that is bottled by a number of producers including Roar and Pisoni (who jointly own Garys' vineyard), Williams Selyem, Kosta Browne, Lucia, A.P. Vin and Siduri, just to mention a few. There is also a Garys' Syrah vineyard that is widely sold to other wineries. The Pinot was very nice although a little young. Average retail price is about $50 if you can find it. Las Vegas restaurant price was $120. Actually not a bad mark-up. They were also selling the 2013 Kosta Browne Keefer Ranch Single Vineyard Pinot for $275. Believe my cost from KB was $90. While on the subject of really good Santa Lucia Pinot vineyards, did you know that Rosella's Vineyard, another great Pinot that's bottled by a number of California wineries, is very closely related to Garys' vineyard. Rosella is Gary Franscioni's wife (Roar Winery). Yes, he's half of the Garys' vineyard duo along with Gary Pisoni (Pisoni Vineyards and Lucia Vineyards).
