Was curious about who my top producers were (of my existing inventory).
My cellar has 182 producers, but my top 10 account for 25% of my cellar.
The top 10 included 7 from Washington, 2 from California and 1 from Oregon.

Hard Row to Hoe 4.4% Bottles (46) / Pending (6)
Betz Family 3.4% Bottles (41)
Virage Vineyards 3.4% Bottles (40)
Cultura 3.1% Bottles (31) / Pending (6)
St. Innocent 2.3% Bottles (28)
The Walls Vineyards 2.3% Bottles (27)
Quivet Cellars 2.2% Bottles (22) / Pending (4)
Secret Squirrel 2.1% Bottles (25)
Spring Valley Vineyard 2.1% Bottles (25)
CT Barrel Project 2.0% Bottles (6) / Pending (18)

I'll play.

Keep in mind I run my own online wine business. But all the wine belongs to me essentially, and I mix my personal and commercial stock on CT.

Joh. Jos. Prüm 8.6% Bottles (196) / Value £3,610 / Cost £3,610 / Average vintage 2013.1
La Rioja Alta 4.0% Bottles (92) / Value £1,899 / Cost £1,899 / Average vintage 2007.4
Tenuta San Guido 3.2% Bottles (74) / Value £3,483 / Cost £3,483 / Average vintage 2014.2
Moët & Chandon (Dom P) 3.0% Bottles (69) / Value £6,391 / Cost £6,391 / Average vintage 2003.7
Jean-Michel Stephan 2.1% Bottles (49) / Value £1,459 / Cost £1,459 / Average vintage 2013.2
Château Léoville Barton 2.1% Bottles (7) / Pending (40) / Value £2,905 / Cost £2,905 / Average vintage 2012.7
La Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri 1.8% Bottles (41) / Value £966 / Cost £966 / Average vintage 2011.2
Louis Roederer (Cristal) 1.6% Bottles (36) / Value £3,465 / Cost £3,465 / Average vintage 2006.3
Antinori 1.5% Bottles (5) / Pending (30) / Value £2,224 / Cost £2,224 / Average vintage 2013.0
Château Haut-Brisson 1.5% Bottles (10) / Pending (24) / Value £669 / Cost £669 / Average vintage 2014.8

JJ Prüm
Arrowood
Huet
JEC
Graham's
Max Ferd Richter
Ponsot
Comte de Vogüé
Bertrand Ambroise
Heinz Eifel

Shafer dropped off the list due to drinking the older One Point Fives and selling most of the Hillside Select over the last couple years. Prüm holdings total about 8 -9 cases varying from 1983 to 2015, down to the last few which are 2 cases or less each.

My cellar's very shallow as I concentrate (to the extent you can call my whimsical buying habits concentrating) more on breadth than depth, but:

Reynvaan
Teutonic
Climens
Pontet-Canet
Cune
Chapoutier
Rivers-Marie
DeLille Cellars
Domaine Chandon de Briailles

That's an easy one as I already have that Search saved. Of my Top 10, all producers are ones for which I'm either in their club, allocation email, or receive their email offers. I've also visited 7 of the 10, which there may be nothing more enjoyable to do, and the other 3 were sourced from this great community!

Force Majeure 5.5%/ Average vintage 2011.7

Tablas Creek 5.3% /Average vintage 2012.6

Cliff Lede 4.9% / Average vintage 2012.7

Torii Mor 4.6% / Average vintage 2011.5

Ridge 3.2% / Pending (4) / Average vintage 2013.4

Jack Creek Cellars 3.0% / Average vintage 2013.4

Rasa Vineyards 2.8% / Average vintage 2010.5

Denner 2.4% / Average vintage 2013.7

Epoch Estate Wines 2.0% / Average vintage 2012.7

They retail LB in NZ??? If so, you must live on the North Island.

haha, it may be a small country, but its not that small! I buy my wine mostly out of Auckland, which I think is normal for most buying Bordeaux, as it is a city with 1/3 of the country's total population.

I think visiting is important. There will always be good wine, but the wine we buy is expensive, and spending my dollars with people I like is important - more so than almost any other product I buy.

I have visited 8 of my top 10. I have not been to Quivet (they are down there in California somewhere), or Secret Squirrel - I can't find them!

My cellar is very diversified at the moment so the top 10 account for around 18% only.

My top 10 is very different from you guys. Only regreat is not to have any top riesling producer (new to riesling) or burgundy (cannot afford any way)

Château Chauvin 3.0% Bottles (41)
Buscado Vivo o Muerto (Sejanovich-Mausbach) 2.2% Bottles (30)
Produttori del Barbaresco 1.7% Bottles (23)

Small, frugal cellar here. <150 bottles. Includes wines intended for consumption 2018 or later.

Navarro Vineyards 10.2%
Kingston Family Vineyards 4.7%
Kosta Browne 3.1%
Sandlands 3.1%
Mirafiore 3.1%
Domenico Winery 3.1%
6 others tied at 2.3%

Not surprised that one Chilean and one Italian producer made it to the top 10. Overall relatively consistent w/my cellar strategy. CT sure makes it easy now that I've loaded all that da$$ data after buying a larger cooler this year.

Cheers!

La Rioja Alta 11.9% Bottles (100) / Pending (3)
Château Laffitte-Teston 3.6% Bottles (31)
Domaine Capmartin 3.5% Bottles (30)
Domaine Cauhapé 3.3% Bottles (29)
Château Montus 3.0% Bottles (26)
Clos de Gamot 2.7% Bottles (23)
Château Batailley 2.7% Bottles (11) / Pending (12)
Château Sociando-Mallet 2.5% Bottles (13) / Pending (9)
Azienda Agricola Elvio Cogno 2.4% Bottles (21)
Château Bellevue La Forêt 2.2% Bottles (19)

Unsurprisingly, I like Rioja and Madiran.

This manner of recording is a little bit of a blunt instrument, though, as both Alain Brumont (Montus, La Tyre and Bouscasse) and Herman Jouffreau (Clos de Gamot and Clos St Jean) would be 2nd and third if correctly recorded as 'producer'.

And now for something completely different...

Herdade da Maroteira 8.5% Bottles (48) / Pending (18) / Average vintage 2013.7
Campolargo 8.0% Bottles (62) / Average vintage 2009.4
Terras d'Alter 6.2% Bottles (48) / Average vintage 2012.0
Soc. Agrícola Fonte de Avis 4.1% Bottles (32) / Average vintage 2007.9
Casa de Santa Vitória 4.1% Bottles (32) / Average vintage 2010.2
Casa Agrícola Santana Ramalho 3.6% Bottles (28) / Average vintage 2011.4
Pêra-Grave 3.5% Bottles (27) / Average vintage 2011.7
Casa da Passarella 3.2% Bottles (25) / Average vintage 2012.0
Aldeias de Juromenha 2.8% Bottles (22) / Average vintage 2010.9
Álvaro Castro 2.4% Bottles (19) / Average vintage 2012.2

I've visited 9 out of 10 and I entirely agree on its value - each sip is a memory of the visit, and either adds (all of the above), or removes (a few from whom I will never buy again) a point to the final score.
