WineguyCO, whenever I have a Manhattan I use those very same cherries except I believe that my jar is smaller than yours.

I'll have to look for those. It would have been great in a Rob Roy tonight.

My go to cocktail is also one that uses Americano - Corpse Reviver #2.

Wash a glass with Absenthe.
In a shaker combine ice and one ounce each of:
Gin (I use Plymouth Navy Strength)
Cointreau
Cocci Americano
Fresh lime juice.

Shake for 15-30 seconds, pour into washed glass.
Get revived.

I tried this, this weekend and loved it. Thank you!

On a recent vacation visit to the Hotel Roanoke (Virginia):

Old Virginia Vardier

Bourbon, Tuaca, Sweet vermouth, Brandied Cherry @-2-1 -1 ratio on booze per the bartender. Muddled cherries and orange.

I had no idea what Tuaca was. An Italian Brandy was the answer. Not sure I can find it, but Grand Marnier seems a reasonable substitute.

Oh, and we made our own cocktail cherries this year. I ended up with 6 quart jars total, these are the last 4. First batches used some honey and cinnamon in the mix, these were straight bourbon. These have now been sitting a few months, I'm most excited to try the Rainiers.

I can't even remember the last time I drank a cocktail. Putting an ice cube in cask-strength Bourbon would be about as close as I get.

I do that a lot too. Today I bought a new (to me) bourbon, Longbranch by Wild Turkey. I've always liked WT and Russell Reserve, so interested to try this one.

Makers Mark is becoming my Go To bourbon I think. Stands up to Blanton's or Belle Meade, much better than Beam or Knob Creek, I tried 5 or 6 in a side by side tasting a while back. Maker's was top tier for my palate at a fraction of the cost of the other "Top".

Last night’s FFP on the upper deck. Brazilian Caipirinhas served with a pair of North Carolina blackberries and accompanied with Irish cheddar and English crackers… must have been feeling somewhat worldly.

Tons of fresh mint in the farmer’s markets, so many Mojito variations.
Next up is a Lemon Basil version, muddle basil, mint, two lemon wedges and a teaspoon of simple syrup. Add crushed ice, two shots of rum and top with club soda. Repeat often.

We have mint in the garden and I've been making a similar cocktail. Usually use lime and gin for my wife's, adding some cucumbers from the garden to the muddle for mine. Light and refreshing, best ones we enjoyed this summer!

A recent discovery: the paper plane. I'd be hard-pressed to come up with another cocktail of that strength that's also that refreshing. Deceptively delicious.

The paper plane is one of my favorite cocktails. I use Ransom Old Tom Gin and the recipe from the Tuxedo No2 website.

I made this cocktail, and it was very good. Not sure where the snake in the grass comes in. I've only had one drink.

I've spent the week making Margarita's and White Russians for the girls. For me it's been Eagle Rare neat. Goes great with the views from the balcony.

Rick, great choice! Really enjoy the double oak as well. Chasing a ghost- I hear there is a double double oak, so far have not been able to source.
