Looking for a great meal in Highlands, NC or surrounding (very close) area. Going for a work function and meeting up with my colleague who is as equally wine driven as myself. Looking to bring, I dunno, '05 Volnay, similarly aged bdx, old Rioja, maybe 20ish year old champagne, so good juice. Doesn't need to be fine dining white tablecloth necessarily, just looking for a restaurant with great food and service.

I have been here once and it was very, very good: https://www.oldedwardshospitality.com/old-edwards-inn-spa/dine/madisons
...but that is the only place I have been in the area as I have only been once.

When are you going? Highlands shuts down many of their restaurants in the winter. But another place to try is On The Verandah, which allows your wines with a corkage.
