6-2016 Vincent Armstrong Vineyard Pinot Noir. Unfortunately we are skiing in Crested Butte and so directed the FedEx to my local Walgreens. Will pick up probably Saturday. All good.

Yep, my license plate renewal notices did not arrive this year and the only way I realized it was because I had to do an emissions test on my older car. Mail is getting more unreliable each and every year.

The A5 seems expensive except I split a 1 lb steak into three pieces Two pieces for dinner & the last one I make A5 nigiri appetizer that is quite filling. Not an every weekend thing. Wildfork Prime Picahna is also excellent. I get nothing but rave reviews for my guests who have it. Looking for the next special occasion for the A5 though. The best steal from Wildfork is the beef sweetbreads. 1.5 lbs is $6.00. I always keep 2-3 in our freezer.

After about 8 months of waiting, finally received a half case of 2001 Feudi di San Gregorio Irpinia Serpico. Anyone have experience with this one? Pairing recommendations?

I had six of the 2001 but drank them all years ago. They were very good with a long decant, and yet I always felt they needed much more aging time! I will look forward to your TNs. I would expect a dark, tart, somewhat tannic wine with rich, ripe fruit, tobacco and vanilla notes, mineral finish. My 2009 TN said “like a dry vintage port”. I tended to pair with a meat dish, maybe osso buco, pasta with a ragu or braised lamb. Cheese could work well too.

I went today to pick up my shipment of 6 Maybach Materium 2021. I drove 350 miles, made an hour and a half line at the Mexico- USA border crossing, went to the office to pick up the wine. Then headed towards Five Guys and ate a burger followed by a 20 min visit to Total Wine and happily I report I bought nothing other than a couple of 4 packs of Samuel Smith Organic Lager ( right now my fav beer )

The wine is now in the cellar. This was my very last shipment and now till maybe mid November I start once again the pilgrimage. I have very few orders for late this year, maybe 20 wines or so.

It looks that for the next year and a half I am not buying anything and will wait for 2023 Napa. No more Bdx for me as I am not buying 2021s and I already purchased a few 2022 ( Laroque, Lilyan Ladoys, Tronquoy. Nothing fancy, just fine ageable wine)

Nice haul. I'd pop that '12 K Vintners The Beautiful before too awfully long. It's a delicious wine and should still be great, but that particular bottling can every so often turn "pruny" with too many years. Jealous of that Jaffurs too...I love just about any Cali wine from 2010.

Need to go to FedEx and pick up my Denner arrival of 2 x '21 Denner Cirrus (Grenache) and one '22 Zin. Really liked the Zin during a winery visit in January!
