From CT:
Pours brick red with a brownish hue, been open for an hour and the initial maderized nose has transformed to cherry and strawberry hard candy and leather with soft red fruit up front. This is really surprising with medium weight and texture. Still fairly grippy tannins and balancing acid with sweet red fruit pulling through the finish. Fabulous for what it is, a 31yr old Zinfandel. Sad that it will probably be a bottle of vinegar in a few hours. Fun journey though.

Sounds great! I hope your next one from the godfather is just as good!

I brought 2015 Hirtzberger, and a 2005 Alsatian VT. Joe brought a 2001 Prum WS Spatlese; then we had 20yr Olorosso. Then we had seriously good craft beers. Happy place.

A bit of Lea Tensley Pinot Noir, 2012, Santa Rita Hills is left. Also plan to open Fratelli Perata 2003 Cab Sauv, Paso Robles. Definitely time to switch to more reds w/occasional whites. Red wine enjoyed at home with my feet up = comfort experience on cooler evenings.

Cheers!

Nice bottle- but I was annoyed by the store's bin notes which referred to weather in the Yarra. Somebody had just taken I B as a Yarra producer (true) and not actually looked at the bottle. I'm a sad.....

had one of the best Pinot Blanc's out there. Weinbach Pinot Blanc reserve with Peruvian chicken, black beans, sweet plaintains and Yuca fries. Really went well together.

Vivac Chenin Blanc, 2015, New Mexico. Bought 2 bottles; this is the second bottle to enjoy.

Decent enough. Just seemed like a night to open a white, after 2 reds.

Cheers!

Sadly, nothing at all. Since my wife's transplant she is off alcohol for 3 months. I'll be good and only have a small glass now and then so I don't forget the taste!

Small get together, 2006 il poggione brunello, 2005 vin roc cab, 2010 Michele chiarlo barbaresco asilie, 2015 Jo's joh prum spatlese graacher himmelreich.
Had to open a 5th bottle so I grabbed a 2006 Paolo scavino brick del faisc, really did it a disservice with the pop, the others were given a 4 hour decant, but after only 20 min it was wotn.

A 2009 CT Barrel Project Black Sears that we opened last night but didn't finish. Drinking beautifully right now.

Inspiration hit while doing an inventory and the CT BP wines in our cellar were named...

Finishing up the NV Alcyone Tannat Vinedo de los Vientos that was opened on Thanksgiving but was never pulled out of the fridge. It's a tough job, but somebody had to drink it.

2013 E. Guigal Cote du Rhone at a holiday party. Tasty, reminded me of why I got into Southern Rhone wines in the first place. Need to back up the truck as the 2015s get released.

2008 Force Majeure Collaborations Series I Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. The aging has done its magic, although it probably would have continued to do so for another 15 years.

Last night, we finished my last bottle of the 2006 Cerbaiona Brunello. The wine was good, but I’ve had better bottles.... it was holding, but not amazing. Perhaps just closed down, but it could perhaps also be evidence in support of the current winemaker’s view that the wine tends to peak by age 10, although you can certainly keep it far longer.
