Everything I expect from CSM Gewurz. Fruity, bright, clean, quaffable, dirt cheap. off-dry, so serve with food accordingly. Held up surprizingly well to BBQ-ribs and related picnic food. A go-to.

I worried that this bottle might be past its prime based on others' recommended drinking dates, but I found it quite lively, with a good deal more character than many merlots I've had. Garnet tending toward brick red. Nose was a tad hot but interesting and earthy. Balanced acidity and mature fruit; medium-to-full body; tannins evident but not distracting. Very nice, wonderful accompanyment to a balsamic pork roast.

    8/24/2010 7:08:00 PM - Second day; the nose has developed some interesting notes of caramel and black pepper, and I think some cooked vegetable element... bummer, that part. Fruit is fading rapidly. Finish is too short. Not sure its fair to downgrade my rating on 2nd day, or if its typical for character to degrade. I did use the 'ol vac-u-vin. but 2nd day experience was somewhat diminished.

Naso su toni molto affumicati e di frutta secca, sicuramente segnato dal legno ma piacevole per il mio gusto. La bocca è altrettanto segnata, su note burrose e di vaniglia, lasciando qualche spazio a frutta tropicale, pesca e mela matura. Pecca in bevibilità e mineralità. Legno a tratti eccessivo.

    Nose on tones very smoked and dried fruit, definitely marked by the wood but nice for my taste. The mouth is also checked on vanilla and buttery notes, leaving some room for tropical fruits, fishing and ripe Apple. Trespass in drinkability and minerality. Wood good, but sometimes excessive
