4/7/2024 - Mallards wrote: 70 pointsWe run to lower publicized wines from great winemakers. Sorry we did on this wine, as it was horrible. Nose: Dark fruits, woody, leather, a sense of a richer big flavor. Taste: Smoky and Merlot like. We decanted this for 2 hours, and kept acting like it wasn’t decanted. Once we realized we had done the right thing by decanting, here were our thoughts. Bitter, impossible to find fruit. A disgusting tannin bomb, that should not be drank yet. Tastes like a shitty blend that you might get at a low end steak house. Does NOT inspire me to buy the many $135 offerings Rasa offers. Avoid this garbage, as they should have put this down the drain. I might be interested in trying their $135 offerings. But NEVER this garbage in a bottle again.

9/1/2023 - Jake112380 Likes this wine: 90 pointsDrinking well now. Means I go the fruit a bit, but still plenty of savory flavors to balance. Outstanding value at the current case offer ($20/bottle) from the winery. Should cellar for at least another five years, and maybe up to fifteen.

8/5/2023 - Jake112380 Likes this wine: NRLook, this wine is good. Maybe almost great. It’s got lots of oak influence, solid black fruit flavors , and lots of length. Am I happy I bought it? Yes. Would I trade a bottle of this for the 2019? Also yes.

2/20/2020 - Portland Seth Does not like this wine: 87 pointsAnother 10yo Abeja that was past its prime or flawed. This flaw isn't fatal, but the fruit is faded and stewed. Drink asap.

6/23/2021 - Jake112380 Likes this wine: 90 pointsStill good, but this bottle is a bit disjointed. A little less fruit, a little more tannin, a little less balanced. 89-90, rounding up based on my prior note. Considering the other notes, maybe some bottle variation?

2005 Pepper Bridge Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valleymore |
8/26/2019 - Charlie C wrote: 80 pointsThe nose is a bit harsh with some trace of violets. Nice dark fruit, black cherries, pepper. It is starting to become unbalanced. The acidity is somewhat harsh and not in balance with the fruit and sweet tannins. Finishes long, but again a bit too acidic. Overall, palatable but that’s it. Drink soon. The acidity will become intolerable in the next year or so.

8/8/2019 - rakasome Likes this wine: 92 pointsMarvelous. Deep, deep color. Powerful on the olfactory. Maybe gonna be best in a year or FIVE! Yes, I agree with another comment that Cameron Kontos is hitting his stride. No wonder they have so little to sell retail as the wine clubs are maxed out. You don't get into a club for shitty wine.
