Splash decanted at home before taking to a party. A biggish, modern wine with robust cassis fruit, spice and a sweet finish. Still very primary. Like but don't love this early/initial style of The Walls wines compared to the more elegant and complex wines being produced for the label now by Todd Alexander, who came on board with the 2020 (or was it 19) vintage.

Tasted at The Jame Restaurant Geneva (IL). Bright purple garnet colored, it was medium-full bodied with a firm gripping backbone structure with glycerine legs clinging to the glass, the polished elegant tannins were smooth and silky that it made for enticing casual sipping - bright red and black fruits accented by bright expressive notes of menthol, spice and creme de cassis, with notes of tobacco leaf and subtle vanilla and oak. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2023/10/the-james-geneva-features-wine-friendly.html

Good stuff. Medium body. Solid Walla Walla cab flavors. Smooth, firm tannins and really long finish.
