Disappointing for a RP and JS 95 pointer, I was caught up by the stories of this Uco Valley, Mendoza elevated wine yard, at 1,400m above sea-level.

I found my bottle lacking in acidity as well as freshness, not quite what I expected and all I got was simple apple and pear notes. Improved somewhat when the glass warmed up from perhaps 5C to 15C, more layers were apparent.. but at the price point of over USD 40, I yearned for more "zing"!

Still a great afternoon, 10 course Chinese meal at OUG Jade.

Update - My distributor who sold me this bottle, replaced the bottle for a latter re-tasting, reminded that I should do a short 20 min decant first, and drink this at 13-16 C instead.

I’ve hears Stephen Spurrier say that «Italy don’t really make white wine» and tend to agree. This is a strong candidate to show that they definitely can. Great distinct character.

Nose of minerals and wet stone, citrus including tangerine, some white peach and slight honeydew melon. Med acidity, med minus body. Good length, bone dry exit.

Lots of Brett, which I liked years ago but now consider a flaw. Beyond that, concentrated red berry fruits (especially strawberries) with classic green bell pepper notes. A little too tannic now. Probably would have scored 90+ with me but for the Brett.

Opened with the thought it may be past its prime. This bottle was not in a temperature controlled setting but it was really good! Soft polished tannins with big fruit still. Cassis and red fruit. The finish was a good 45 seconds. I wasn't expecting that. I wish I had a couple more of these.

Way too thin for my taste! Both in taste and consistency.
Tasted like it was diluted with water.
Not worth themoney.

3/8/2021 12:59:00 AM - I think it is unfair to give a wine 60 points, either the bottle was off and than it deserves no score or your taste is so quite unique and peculiar you should keep it for yourself!

Started out a little toasty but opened up. Smooth and interesting. Probably past peak. Not sure where it's going from here.

Very pretentious but with a very bitter finish not very pleasant

9/18/2020 2:24:00 AM - Sorry, perhaps that was confusing. What I meant was that this wine gave me the impression of really wanting to be a top wine (in terms of oak, extraction, style) but was falling very short. Of course it was the winemaking team behind it and not the wine itself. Hope that clarifies, or maybe it was just poor vocabulary on my side (I am not native)
