The slight sweetness and soft tannins were, surpisingly, a fantastic match. It had depth and fanesse, but not overpowering. We are not normally Merlot drinkers, but this was definitely the right wine at the right time. |

Like a good lobster, sometimes it's an aquired taste (incidently this is a great wine with lobster). Now I love the Kistler chards and I know what to expect. There's a lot of citrus and minerality, as others have pointed out. This one has a cloudy, honey-colored hue and nice tropical nose; oaky, but not overpowering. I had the Dutton Ranch Kistler a few days earlier, which seemed to have a little more character, but this is still a nice wine. |
