5/9/2024 - honest bob wrote: 88 pointsFrom 75cl, synthetic cork, decanted 30 minutes, best at 1 hour after opening, deteriorated thereafter. Friendly, low-acid, soft, juicy, but sorely lacking MàV iron or vibrancy, let alone layering or complexity. Fine quaffing wine at an appropriate price, ready to drink now-2026. 88-89P |

4/27/2024 - North Willis Likes this wine: 90 pointsPnP. Drinking quite well, with deep, ripe fruit notes reflective of the warm 2018 vintage. I wish it had a bit more lift and structure to balance out the ripe fruit. But overall a very pleasant and easy going cru Beaujolais. |

4/5/2024 - SpenceP wrote: 94 pointsWhen I tasted this wine on 4/3/22, it was completely closed down, so much so that I made a note to myself not to bother revisiting it until two full years had passed. Tasting it again today, it is beginning to emerge from hibernation but is not yet there. Immediately after opening, baked plums, flowers, maybe raspberries, and sweet spices, followed by a very very long and intense aftertaste. After about 15 minutes smoke, coffee, and cherries enter the picture and after another 15 leather, melon, and a hint of licorice appear. Gentle but significant tannins. After an hour, the intensity of the experience is strikingly increased, but too much of the complexity has vanished. If you have this in your cellar, I'd strongly recommend waiting at least another year before opening a bottle--my guess is that it will be very special when it's finally ready. I'll be tasting it again in about a year or a bit more, and will post a note. [Tasted over an hour and three quarters from both the Conterno glass and the Jancis Robinson glass. At this stage in its development, it's showing slightly better from the Conterno glass, but that could change in a year or two. The score is based mostly on the extraordinary intensity and concentration the wine acquires over an hour and a half in the glass--I suspect that the final score will be higher.] |

3/11/2024 - cavedivr Likes this wine: 92 pointsVery solid backbone for a gamay. Earthy, with a long finish... but still has the typical gamay fruit. Really well put together, and fantastic QPR at the $22.50 I paid. |

2/16/2024 - Mike Kopanski wrote: 88 pointsNicely intense for a Gamay. Rich dark red color. Earthy funk on the nose and palate. Earthy, meaty undertone to the cherry and cranberry fruit. A bit grainy. Leads toward more dark fruit like mulberry and blueberry at the finish, with maybe a touch of motor oil. |

2/14/2024 - JohnSh wrote: 87 pointsI stood this up for a few days and drank it over two nights. it was quite light in colour at first, but got darker as I emptied the bottle, with a fair bit of sediment. Earthy cherries and a hint of brett on both the nose and on the light-medium bodied palate. Healthy acidity on both nights, but balanced with the fruit (which seems to be dropping). OK, but definitely time to drink up (B). |

2/5/2024 - honest bob wrote: 90 pointsFrom 75cl, good cork, decanted 30 minutes. Despite serving in Zalto Burgundy glasses this just smelt—vaguely, indefinably—of soft, pure red wine. Medium-bodied, low acid, unbelievably plush and smooth, very pure red fruit—red plum/ripe damson? The end has some interesting retronasal caramel aromatics, and more intense fruit concentration tingling on the tongue than you'd believe possible given the light, ephemeral entry. The last drops are definitely the best. Wait and see. In 10-20 years this should still be in great form, and might just turn out to be a great wine. 90P(??) |
