  • From 75cl, synthetic cork, decanted 30 minutes, best at 1 hour after opening, deteriorated thereafter. Friendly, low-acid, soft, juicy, but sorely lacking MàV iron or vibrancy, let alone layering or complexity. Fine quaffing wine at an appropriate price, ready to drink now-2026. 88-89P

  • Medium ruby with some blue. Black cherry, autumn leaves, forest floor, wild strawberry, oak, mushroom, balsamic, black olive. Iron on palate. Medium+ acidity, medium tannins, medium body. Very pleasant.

  • PnP. Drinking quite well, with deep, ripe fruit notes reflective of the warm 2018 vintage. I wish it had a bit more lift and structure to balance out the ripe fruit. But overall a very pleasant and easy going cru Beaujolais.

  • I’ve had the Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie before, and was not impressed. This wine seems proportionately (it’s a different cru) much better. More intense nose, more intense flavors, and more complexity. Lovely classic Beaujolais flavors: ripe dark fruit, a bit of earth, dark cherry, and some floral notes. Almost no tannins, somewhat surprising for a Moulin a Vent. Quite delicious and enjoyable.

Drinking very well right now. While I can see this aging for another few years, 2055 is way over the top.
