Double decanted 3 hrs before consuming. Wine was cloudy, despite standing up for 3 days. Beautiful nose, amazing fruit. Soft, but full tannins. Long finish. Plenty of life in this wine. Another 20 years easily. Simply an amazing wine. Aussie port does not get any better than this. Fortifieds are Australia's most under valued wines. Wish I had more. |

So alive at 53 years of age with solid colour still, purple core. Superb spirit, complexity to burn and a touch of rancio for interest. wow1 What a survivor. |

Very pronounced aromas of ripe black fruit, cedar, chocolate and leather dominated by mint and eucalyptus. Great acidity and tannin structure. If you have it you can enjoy it now but it should be showing perfectly for another 5-10 years. |

The colour is still quite dark cherry red with a bright nose of dark red cherries, plum jam, blackberry compote and touches of cedar and liquorice. The palate evolves with a good decant to reveal complex notes of black and red fruits, all-spice, Christmas cake and finishing lick of truffle and cedar. The spirit is quite fine and a reminder of when this was a sought after prestige line quite uniquely Australian. A beautiful blast from the past. |
