2009 Ancient Oak Cellars Pinot Noir Siebert RanchRussian River Valley more |
7/11/2014 - Chuck C wrote: 87 pointsNot too shabby, some characteristic notes of earthiness with a soft texture and no tannin. Not much length on this wine, no really finish to it, but for a simple bottle of pinot (for those nights with lots of guests?), it should work ok. |

5/18/2014 - Chuck C wrote: 88 pointsVery interesting wine. Unusual twangy taste and texture. Different is good, in my book. I won't attempt to come up with the various flavors, but I will say it was not like a chard, not like a SvBl, and not like a Riesling. Fun stuff, I'd buy it again. |

9/14/2017 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 92 pointsVery nice, got that slight funk to an aged Chard. Still a bit of oak, and malo? Works well with an aged cheddar and a nice afternoon. Cheers! |

7/12/2017 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 95 pointsReally good stuff, I'm not sure how wine gets much better. I am a fan of CdP, but this was especially good. Smooth, but complex. Full and round, great texture and body, lots of fruit without being cloying. Not much tannin, but what's left is slightly sweet and tasty. Can't say I've had much better wine than this. I'm getting Raspberries with a hint of cherries. |

12/11/2015 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 92 pointsAmazing complex and fascinating red wine. Still lots of tannin, but you can tell this is an amazing wine. I can't even describe all of the flavor profiles and aroma's going on here, but I wish I had a case or two to figure it out. Nice! |

2010 Byron Pinot NoirSanta Barbara County more |
6/15/2013 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsVery nice, fruity, cinnamon aroma, with a complex palate. Finish was very understated, no tannin or oak. I liked it quite a bit. We bought this bottle on a trip to Santa Barbara and Paso Robles; and when we tasted it at the tasting room in Los Olivos, I wasn't that impressed. But I guess a year in the wine cellar did it some good! |

4/11/2015 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsLove Byron Pinot's. This is drinking really nicely right now. Lots of fruit and flavor. Delicate, nice acidity, no tannin, but great cherry taste. Classic Central Cali Pinot. |

6/5/2015 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsI'm sorry, but for $11 (Last Bottle wines), this is hard to beat. A lot of tannin still, but great Grenache fruit and taste. QPR is awesome! |

2012 Calera Pinot Noir Central Coastmore |
12/6/2013 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 91 pointsWe thought this wine was pretty darn good, especially at this price range. I got all kinds of cinnamon and clove, with lots of fruit and spice. Really, the best $20 bottle of wine I think I've ever had. There was a lot going on in here. This really makes me want to try their single vineyard Pinots. |

2011 Calera Pinot Noir Ryan VineyardMount Harlan more |
3/29/2015 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsI Love Central Coast Pinot's, and this one is very good. I'm a fan of Calera; I haven't found anything from them yet, that I didn't like. This is similiar to many Pinot's from this region. Delicate and fruity, but not overly sweet. Not for a big Cab or Bordeaux fan though. |

2012 Domaine Clos des Rocs Pouilly-Loché Les BarresChardonnay more |
10/11/2016 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 92 pointsWait for 10 to 15 minutes before tasting, it's skunky right out of the bottle. But after that it's really nice. Like a lot of white burgs., it's nothing like Cali Chard. Good acidity, a bit of mineral, nice lemon curd, none of the buttery slop or flaccid texture of a cheap chardonnay. Great finish and loads of texture. |

2009 La Cova dels Vins Montsant Barrica OmbraGrenache Blend, Grenache more |
12/5/2014 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsActually pretty tasty. For the price, very very good. Has that great Grenache aroma and flavor. Good fruit, with the tannin nicely balanced out. There was a lot of sediment in the bottom of the bottle, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Felt very un-manufactured, if that is a thing. I liked it! |

2/1/2013 - Chuck C wrote: 84 pointsThe wine looks light gold colored. The body is Light. The wine has Narrow texture. The wine finishes Short. Slight mineral taste with lemon/lime overtones. Not too buttery. Fairly pedestrian Chardonay. Not bad with Girl Scout Cookies (Samoa's) though! |

2007 Dusky Goose Pinot Noir Dundee Hillsmore |
10/21/2016 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 95 pointsExtraordinary wine. Amazingly fruit forward for a 2007. Cherries all the way. Had the classic Oregon Pinot aroma and body and color, but tasted youthful and fresh. Full bodied, with no latent tannin left. I wish I had a case of this. |

2008 Dutch Bill Creek Wines Pinot Noir Russian River Valleymore |
11/11/2013 - Chuck C wrote: 90 pointsThis is a very surprising bottle of wine. Very musty/wet wood/Southern Rhone type aroma to this wine when we first opened. Very pale, almost opaque, probably the most light colored wine I've ever seen. The flavor was really nice though; subtle floral and berry. We wanted more, when it was all gone. What more can you say? |

2011 Evening Land Vineyards Pinot Noir Eola - Amity Hillsmore |
9/17/2015 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 89 pointsMuch better than the first bottle I opened. Maybe the first one was flawed? I don't know, but this was a very nice and classic Oregon Pinot. Delicate but complex, with some interesting flavors. |

1/14/2017 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsNice aroma and flavor, smooth texture and tannins. Doesn't taste too much like most Oregon Pinot's. Doesn't have much of the musty, forest floor flavor I associate with OP's. But very nice regardless. Cherry and lavender. Good wine. |

6/20/2014 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 90 pointsNice glass of white wine, just the right mix of acidity, mineral-ness, some nice lemony-limy flavors. Good, decent Chardonnay, i like it. I would buy another bottle. |

The finish is long and satisfying. I could drink this all day and all night long. Thanks Foxen for an amazing wine experience! |

10/29/2016 - Chuck C Likes this wine: 92 pointsHad with Tri-Tip. Great combo, the wine is perfect for drinking right now, and went with this savory meat really nicely. Softer and smoother Cabernet than many, but a really nice wine for the price. Fruit is very apparent, but not too jammy. I like it. |
