Drank last nite at Copake with the kids. Color shows a darker hue than I've ever noticed with Aubert. Nose is full of tropical fruit aromas, plus still showing some vanilla. Full bodied, oily (Mad's description) and very much CA-style, with less acidity than I recall--not a good thing. Very fruity, very hot (15%) and very rich. Gobs of butterscotch, melon, and pineapple. Not quite as over the top as in the past with all of these Auberts, but still noticeably extravagant, fat and unctuous. I used to like this wine more than I do these days, and is in no way worth the crazy price tag. All of this said, the wine, indulgent as it is, went well with our meal, and we did enjoy it at some levels. This is NOT a sipping wine btw. Must have food with it

Darker tan gold. Probably let this get a little old, showing pineapple, some uneveness at first opening, a little less acidity than when younger, but ultimately still full and richly indulgent. Long.

This is aged to the max. Drink now if you have some. Acid almost gone. Round Carmel. Enjoy. But soon
