Excellent, after 4 hours opened it's a great wine with licorice taste.

Shows a bit of perfume on the nose; tasted amongst younger wines, this feels leaner - like it has shed its baby fat. Shows a lot of licorice and medium intensity on the palate. Definitely lighter in feel than the 07s tasted today. Very likeable. 91-92

Clear burnt red color, great nose. the finish is still tannic. Given a litte time in the glass it diminishes. Would hold for at least 2 more years.

(2+) Dry and crisp but not a lot of fruit. Likeable but probably not a good QPR.

first hour - blah blah blah needed to open up a bit.
second hour - getting more interesting. started to taste a little spice and a little more bite.
third hour - smooth, nice finish, looking forward to drinking the next bottle in 5 years or so.

Off the list at Mistral Kitchen, so popped and poured and followed for 60+ minutes. Nice spicy, fruity (by which I do not mean jammy) wine, in the nose and on the palate. Medium body. Enough tannin to give nice balance to the ripe blackberry fruit. All in all, a nice wine. It was really good with the pork belly slider (mmmmm, happy hour food).

A bit shut down on initial opening, re-corked in fridge for night. Medium-toned. Blue and red fruit. Boot leather and toasted banna bread with butter. OK.

Pairs nicely with lamb, needs a few hours to open up. Could likely wait 2-3 years.

Bought for $65 at a restraurant - the wine needed to sit about 30min before the full flavor arrived (a little sharp out of the bottle) and we warmed up to it quickly - rich ruby color, with a mild finish - would recommend now or over the next few years

while it is drinking really well now, i need to keep the remaining bottles in the cellar untouched for another 5 years + . It is round but the acidity will support nice development over time

WIML90

Tasted October 9, 2009.

Purchased for $68.00 from a restaurant list. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about 90 minutes. Garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Tight nose of mostly red berries and raspberries. The palate was also quite tight only revealing red berries and perhaps either some raspberries or cherries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. The wine is obviously closed for business right now so I'd recommend holding. I'm guessing it's around a WIML90 based on the underlying components and pedigree but that's a pure crap shoot. Could come in higher with more time in bottle.

This is drinking surprisingly well for it's age. It's got the whole classic Chateauneuf bag of tricks, with dark blackberries, dried fig, saddle leather, mocha, tobacco and rich, dark allspice/ persian spice.

Fabulous, a bit tight at the moment but you can just imagine the complexity this will gain over the next decade or so - Dark brick red, well concentrated, notes of cherry, strawberry, plum, spice, leather, pepper and vanilla on the nose, well structured/complex, very balanced, and velvety smooth on the finish with excellent length (90 Points).

Full bodied and round. Supple already. Pleasant soft tannin. Better than 2004, but one way or another I don't understand. In my memory La Nerthe belonged to the better wines in the past, and now, although it is not a bad wine, there seem to be many wines in C9 which are much better than the basic La Nerthe.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #027 Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2010 (By JdB): In the bouquet cherries, blackberries, garrigue, some leather and vanilla. On the palate a beautiful start with ripe dark and red berry fruits, dark cherries, garrigue and good freshness. Beautifully balanced wine. 91 - 92

While I gave it a 91, I have to admit I was a little disappointed knowing that a 2010 did not move up to all it could have. Much lighter in texture and did not have much of those familiar CDP aromas.. Very tasty. Very juicy. High alcohol.

Naso accattivante, speziato ed affumicato, di prugna, ciliegia, e frutti rossi, erbe provenzali, lavanda. Elegante e fine, ma strutturato e potente al palato, comunque piuttosto equilibrato e con un finale di ottima persistenza.

Decanted 1 to 2 hours before tasting. Classical and mature, red fruits and lot of tertiary notes, warm appearance, present but soft tannin, medium to long finish. Still good but more developed than you would expect from its age, drink soon.

This wine is in a fairly good phase at the moment. It is quite soft, but also structured on the palate. The fruitiness has already started to fade, but it is still there. The wine is providing pleasant aromas of ripe red fruits and also darker tones of herbs. The wine is balanced, and the different components have integrated.

As a whole, this represents a gentler type of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, somehow resembling the style of Burgundian wines.

It started off with chocolate and raisins on the nose. With air you got spiced plum, baked earth and lavender. It had good flesh and volume, with ripe tannins and a gentle uptick of minerally acidity to the finish. In a nice place right now.
