Bought a 6-bottle case of these. Very impressed with it from the first bottle. There is a good degree of fruit, some finesse, and good freshness. These days, it is a good value in Burgundy for the $27.99 price. I have not tried the actual Domaine bottling, so don't have a point of comparison, but this seems really nice!

Funny, in 2021 there are two different cuvees - one from the Domaine, one from the Uncle, which is labeled Gilles. And they are very different from one another.

The Domaine has more savory notes on the nose, then is broader on the palate, the Gilles is more fruit notes on the, then more acidic and wound up on the palate. And the color is even different as well. Super interesting. Kinda like the non-Domaine more.

Nice melon and lemon on the nose. Tasty in a medium bodied package with a fine finish with nice acidity. Not complex, nor mineral, but just fresh, clean, tasty and balanced, with great flavors. Not for the long run, i guess.

Megeve Wednesday evening, pairing it with a pintade. Purple color. Ash, red fruit, wet forest floor, light pepper, nice and fruity nose. Med+ acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, med tannins and med finish. Beautiful fresh cherries, volcano ash, light pepper, orange, touch of capsicum, sous bois. Young but already enjoyable. From experience this can keep easily a decade.

My first Aligote from this producer. I've had other Aligote wines that I have enjoyed much more. This one seemed to lack the acidity that other bottles (from other producers) have had. But for the price it is a nice wine.

Fine nose with melon and lemon. Pure and fine intensity and energy, with bitter lemon. A pretty long finish with fine acidity.

Delectable and pure but a wine that whispers more than shouts, and thus attention has to be paid to catch the hints of pear and almond skin. Very much exemplary of an open knit Côte d’Or white where there are enjoyably mild oxidative notes and utterly no worries for over-reduction. Sweet lime rind lingers on the finish. Lighter in body than I might have suspected. Recommend & time to try their Meursault .

Nice nose with melon and lemon. Theres quite some energy and power on the palate with orchard fruit and a medium finish with nice acidity. My first 2021 white burgundy and works well, but for my palate, this should be drunk young. Great tonight with vegetarian barbecue.

Pours dense and dark, but drinks light and lithe.
Strawberries on the nose and strawberry fruit on the palate. A lovely easy-drinking dryness here with low-med tannins and acid. 13% Alc.
Not a wine for the ages, but delicious right now. This would be welcome at Thanksgiving, or a table of Pinot lovers of whatever persuasion. Helluva good deal to boot. Lafouge is a favorite in our house and an annual buy. Auxey? Who knew?

Pleasant nose with nice intensity, tart cherries and earth. A medium bodied palate with some richness and really fine fruit ending in a fine finish with appealing acidity. Balanced, tasty and seductive, but not for the long run.

Very nice, lower priced 1ER wine. Started with a 2 hour decant, though another hour could be even better. Initial nose was berry and floral, almost delicate. Another 30-45 minutes in the glass brought out some fun mushroom and earth notes. Nice structure and well balanced. Nice intensity and an excellent finish. On the whole, super pleasing.

Nose is quite shy, but theres first a whiff of lemon and some melon. Fresh palate with fine energy and intensity, with a lot of citrus and great acidity in the fine finish. Today not the most complex in terms of flavors, but a Meursault village with some class.

This was my first Aligoté and I’ll write more when I finish it tomorrow and have more time to think. But for now, it reminded me a bit of Grüner Veltliner.

Nice nose first perfumed and a hint of menthol, later darker berries. This really has some power and nice fruit, thats darker than most pinots. A pretty long finish with a lot of tannins/acidity. Theres more tannins in this than Chapelle and Duresses, but its still young, so lets see. Today i prefer Lafouges other two 1' crus.

Nice nose with spice, earth and also perfumed. There's black cherries and currant and the fruit is just lovely with nice sweetness with a medium finish with good acidity.
I have never tasted a Auxey-Duresses before and I guess my fear was that it lacked elegance, but it doesn't and its clean and almost a cool pinot.
I have been told that this is best when its 4-5 years, and although its not closed, you feel its hidding something.

Dark fruit, with some spice. Nice material, though at the moment this is quite big and the oak is prominent. Looking forward to trying more of this producer (and with a little more age).

deep purple color, poached plums on the nose, dark fruits, cherry, an intense chalky/stone note, on the palate plum and black cherry, perfectly ripe, deep, velvety, tannins and chalk notes fully coated by the fruit, great length with good complexity showing already, this is superb wine but note it is very much marked by the vintage and so I think it will take a great deal of time to shed some of that and settle into a savory old age.

Deep, dark ripe blackberry and blueberry fruit. Medium low acid, low-ish tannins, bit of gunflint reduction maybe? Label says 13% alc. but it tastes like more.
A big-ish Burg of primary bodacious pleasure: What I once heard a certain raffish young importer of fine Riesling call wine in the “fun zone”.
