Once at the appropriate temp fresh flavors emerged and this happily washed down pre-dinner nibbles. Tempted to let remaining bottles round out a bit in the cellar but guess popular demand won't allow. |

Even with these handicaps there was more than enough to enjoy this now and plenty of promise for the future. The dinner group was adamant we need to track down a few more bottles to cellar for a year or two or more. An absolute success for this producer and region. |

4/14/2024 - DBdeParis Likes this wine: NRPnP. Very shy at first, with swirling get some yeasty cranberry notes. On the palate broad and mouth-filling with a slight sour edge. With time sour element fades and fruit body emerges. Just love the light weight/low-ish alcohol/faint tannins sensation of this. Would say easy to dislike, harder but possible to like. I'm going to try to save some to see what air/tomorrow will show - and also looking forward to see what Poulsards do with a bit of cellar time. |

Given the stage of the Tour de France we are watching it should be a Jura wine tonight so this was a mistake. But a very satisfying quaffer that I'm not going to think too hard about. Sauvignon character dominates, the splash of Chardonnay seems to add a bit of depth. |

A touch of white pepper in the nose as opposed to the green pepper of the northern Rhone. Would have preferred to give this 2 more years to put on depth in the cellar but with air this is delightful now. Uncommon profile for a Syrah in my experience - not N. Rhone, Oz or CA - but that's the shape-shifting of Syrah. |
