Bordeaux - France. #2; COLOR-deep dark red; NOSE-classic earthy terroir driven; a little brett & greenness coming through; a little dark, tight plum; PALATE-really good tight black raspberry flavors coming through; really dark elegance; great length; really firm tannins on the back-end, but silky smooth throughout; proper mid-palate structure; black tea component; good balance; great elegance; not too full bodied; still drinking quite youthful as this has a good 10-20 years left in it; great second and third tier flavors; RP-90; WS-96; GV-93+ 93+ points |

Cabernet Sauvignon - Napa. #1; COLOR-dark; really substantial for a 74; NOSE-very earthy; a little mint action; some pepper and venison (Bordeaux-like); clear blackberries; PALATE-this wine brings serious thunder; classic; great length; total beef jerky action on the mid-palate transition to the back-end; great, great bottle of Cabernet; this has another 10-15 years in it; great structure; great black currant; gorgeous length; everything you would look for in an all-time great Bordeaux; this is just spectacular; a world class effort; WS-92 & 97; GV-94+ 94+ points |
