5/11/2024 - LW31 Likes this wine: NRFirst taste of this Lamblot cuvee. 70% meunier, 30% chardonnay. Disgorged in early 2023. Dry, bright, refined bubbles, a bit of crunch to the fruit. Not that complex but quite elegant and pretty. Good for aperitif and light bites. |

4/7/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRI found this quite good; took some air and letting the temp come up a bit to really show its stuff. But once it did it was really good. A nice balance between a vinous feel and laser precision. Upside in the cellar |

1/27/2024 - astroman Likes this wine: 90 pointsDisgorged 08 Nov 2021, dosage 0g/l, soufre 21 mg/l, age of vines 27 and 52 years. No information on the blend on the back label, internet indicates a blend of a majority of Meunier with PN and C. Red apple, slight ginger, sesame, spice, delicate on the palate with fully body and high linear acid. Finish not persistent but noticeable. Aggressive moouse but creamy. Palate was better than the nose. Didn't do well on the 2nd day and taste flat/tired. |

9/23/2023 - Satoshi Nakamoto Likes this wine: 91 pointsLove the gold color. Candied orange peel, honey, fresh bread, lemon, almond, grapefruit, guava, steely minerality, and red berries. Lots of energy and effervescence, dry on the finish. Great for the price. Delicious with lunch. |

6/27/2023 - Vas19 wrote: 91 pointsDisgorged 09/11/2020. Pours a surprisingly dark orange color. I really like the minerality of this champagne, but it's lacking some fruit to balance that minerality. It ends up coming off as austere. Wish there were a couple grams of dosage for my palate. |

3/2/2023 - Frank Murray III wrote: NRChampagne Bookclub (served blind)--Me (Giana in Dana Point): Served blind alongside the Lamblot Frenesie. Both are 100% Pinot Meunier without dosage, although there are only about 400 bottles of the Cheries. It's expensive, I paid $140 for it, but I wanted to try it. It's finished with a staple top, which took some extra effort to safely open. This is from a single plot in Gueux, and I suspect it ain't far from the fruit that goes into Prevost. Tasting both, I still believe for me that the Frenesie is the better wine, both for value and what's in the bottle. The Cheries had more stone fruit, apple and good length, and maybe I was guilty of not appreciating the wine more but given the setting of dinner, with 8 of us tasting, and me as the host, I feel I didn't make enough connection with the Cheries. A few people preferred it over the Frenesie. |

3/2/2023 - Frank Murray III wrote: NRChampagne Bookclub (served blind)--Me (Giana in Dana Point): Served blind, alongside the Cotes de Cheries cuvee. There is a $40 premium on the Cheries, which makes the Frenesie the more affordable of the pair. 100% Pinot Meunier from old vines in Vrigny. I really liked this disgorgement of Frenesie, as it has some savoriness to it. Just a light mushroom note, and what Viet called "white pepper", which I thought was a great descriptor. Touch of lime and light slate, with good balance and complexity. I continue to be a fan on Frenesie and will buy more. |

1/11/2023 - Bathtub58 Likes this wine: 92 pointsQuick note. Fresh orchard fruit to start and then ruby red grapefruit and a bit of the associated bitterness appeared after 30 minutes in bottle. Although drinkable now, I think it’s best to wait a couple more years as this is obviously young. 100% Meunier, 0g/l, disgorged 09/11/2020, 1621 bottles. Promising upside. 92-94. |

8/12/2022 - Bathtub58 Likes this wine: 91 pointsDisgorged 10/08/21. Initially, dry, lean, and not showing much. After 30 minutes, this really began to show. Moderate nose of spiced cherry brioche. Similar flavors, dry finish. Moderate complexity/finish. I think the trick to Lamblot is time in an open bottle (air), as opoosed to temperature or other factors. |

8/7/2022 - Frank Murray III wrote: NROpened yesterday. This was a hard wine to get my head around, and I really didn't want to like it, in part I think because I couldn't find a frame for it, to describe it. But, after two bottles of this now, and some experience to be patient with it, to allow it to test my senses, I believe I get it now. No dose, and I think proportionally more Meunier than Chard and PN that is also present. Disgorged August 2021. Pours with some goldish hue, which i think matters because I find this cuvee from Alexandre to show some oxidative tones, not like the Mouvance or Frenesie. So, kind of a brassy, bruised apple with grapefruit and some taut red berry like cranberry kind of thing that floats under the citrus and apple. And then the finish, which exhibits the apple as it fills out, but also something savory too. Like the 2009 Roederer Starck from a few weeks ago, this Lamblot Intuition makes me think, to stretch my perceptions. And like so many Brut Nature wines I drink these days, you gotta let them warm up to let the core fill in. Don't drink this too cold because it will tempt a false judgment. |
