E2 bday dinner at Wimborne. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Still good with no signs of decline yet.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose pronounced intensity, with aromas of fragrant dark brown stems, earthen funk, Ling Yang, ripe strawberry, dark red cherries. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acid, medium alcohol (13%), resolving medium- tannin, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe stems and spice, lovely earthiness with natural funk, juicy red cherries, red plum, ripe strawberries, crunchy stones minerality. Medium+ finish.
Very good quality. Bangingly delicious drinking CdN villages.

This is a lovely expression from Claire, and the most complete 2018 across her range that I’ve tasted so far. Dark sour cherries, strawberries, pronounced floral notes. The acidity is there like it always is but not sticking out, it’s also got good weight and fruit density to the finish.

Couleur Ruby. Nez très floral avec notes non subtiles de petits fruits rouges et cerise. Belle complexité et acidité. Discrètes note de cassis et de chène. Excellent Bourgogne.

Medium ruby. Pronounced. Red fresh fruit: raspberry and strawberry. Whole cluster sweet scent. Cinammon. Underlying intriguing smokiness. Tomato. Gentle oak. Hints of nail polisher. Complex. High acidity. Medium fine tannins. 13% abv. Medium body. Outstanding and dangerously drinkable.

For starters, I don't like Aligoté and I have a hard time understanding the hype. However, I can tolerate it when it's well done, such as Villaine's Bouzeron or Ponsot's Morey-St-Denis.
This wine had everything I dislike about Aligoté: no fruit, high acid, lack of flesh, and bitter elements. In short, imbalanced, disjointed and unpleasant.

클레어 노당 비올라 오도라타 2018.
서빙온도는 살짞 높은 17~18도 정도 였는데 딱 좋았습니다.
오픈 직후에 미세한 브렛이 있었지만 금세 날아가고 매력적인 장미가 올라왔습니다. 장미를 필두로 검붉은 베리, 그리고 삼나무,버섯, 감초의 Whole Cluster 늬앙스가 신선함과 복합미를 만들어 주었습니다.
팔렛에서의 강건함은 매끄럽게 잘 다듬어져 있었고, 든든한 산미가 노즈와 팔렛의 다채로움을 잘 받쳐 주고 있었는데 모난곳 없이 기본기 튼튼한 그런 팔렛 이었습니다.
이전에 테이스팅 했을땐 노즈에 비해 팔렛이 부족한 느낌이였는데 이젠 팔렛이 한수 위에 있었습니다. 부르고뉴 2018이 이제 마실만 해지고 있나 봅니다.

Notes: the 2020 came as a surprise for me as this is fresh and more approachable than I imagined. Nevetheless I feel the palate is a bit less interesting than the nose and probably will take some more cellaring time to improve. While this may not by my favorite kind of wine but this certainly as the complexity of a fantastic wine and definitely punching above its weight class.
