5/18/2024 - AndrewWill Likes this wine: NRAnother hit from Lyle Fass. Full of pure black and red fruit, light on its feet but rich in flavor. Invites another sip in the same way many great Burgundies do. |

5/8/2024 - dreambeam Likes this wine: NRWe don't drink a lot of southern Rhone these days but had gone in for a 4-pack from Lyle Fass a few years back. Perfect storage since receipt, these are really coming around into something more serious than the appellation & price would indicate. This held very well over two days--garrigue, cherry liqueur, dark fruits, hardly a trace of heat even given the 15%. Seconding what Keith wrote below. Glad we have a couple more. |

12/11/2022 - Burgundy Al wrote: 90 pointsGreat value wine. Lots of black cherry and currant with Herbes de Provence, cracked black pepper, roasted game, and floral hints. Everything is balanced and working well together. Wonderful now, with the stuffing to drink well for another decade. |

11/20/2022 - Elycohn Likes this wine: 93 pointsSight to swallow this rocks. I've always thought Syrah pours pretty and this has a graceful weight with less splash, more flow. Deep saturated purple violent with glowing hues, gliding slowly into ribbons. Pretty to the eyes but prettier tot the nose. I could smell this thing all day long. Feminine profile - blackberry, cherry, cedar perfumes, spiced cinnamon and nutmeg. Elegant and Burgundian until the Syrah giveaways - olives, black marker, little bit chewy with a gravely granite finish. |

8/23/2022 - GuanYu Likes this wine: 92 pointsBlack fruits, leather, balanced, complex and high quality. Cassis so concentrated that I could taste the sucrose oozing from it. This bottle needed more cellar time unless you wanted to drink a juicy wine. Medium tannin, medium acidity. |

7/31/2022 - drfloyd Likes this wine: NRThis is in a great place now - blue/black fruits on the nose - mint, hints of cedar - there is a nice transparency to this wine now that wasn’t there three years ago. Medium to light fruit across the palate - just floats over. Nice acidic pop and a long finish. Probably won’t improve much but also is fairly youthful. Quite enjoyable. |

7/14/2022 - RichardP wrote: 94 pointsStrawberry and ether on the nose -- beautiful. On the palate, strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and notes of clove, white pepper, and iodine, with slight jamminess and light tannins on the long finish; the acidity is well balanced. This is excellent, and it was a good value at a little under $100, but I'm not sure how long this will last given how much of the tannin has already been absorbed; it may be nearing its peak. |

5/11/2022 - MLipton wrote: NRNot much change from the last bottle. Still, resolved tannins and classic Syrah fruit, but it fails to wow me. If someone told me it was a top Crozes, I don’t think I’d disagree. I’ll let my remaining bottles sit gir Z should to see how they develop . |

3/13/2022 - Keith Levenberg Likes this wine: 92 pointsHelluva lot of serious wine in here for thirty bucks. Apparently it's a blend of a quarter each grenache, syrah, mourvedre, and carignane though the grenache is dominant with that bold kirsch flavor. That's a flavor that usually leaves me somewhere between indifferent and recoiling, but something about this one me over. Once it gets past that initial impression of sweet, saucy fruit, it gets into a more robust form, showing a solid core and some wonderfully refined cashmere tannin, way too sophisticated for a country wine. |

1/10/2022 - RichardP wrote: 93 pointsStrawberry, iodine, and camphor on the nose. On the palate, candied cherry, blackberry, and notes of iodine and clove, with light tannins and moderate acidity on the long finish. This was about the same on the second day, so I'm not sure how it will evolve. At this stage I preferred this when it was younger, although there is room for improvement as it ages. |

9/4/2021 - MattMauldin Likes this wine: 93 pointsFull decant. Deep, bright olive-purple color with ruby edges. Stout, stately aromas of blackberry & black raspberry fruit, iron, mushroom, fresh violet, and paprika & nutmeg spices. Rich and exotic fruit expression on the palate, dark and vivid, with integrated layers of secondary notes like melted stone, fresh rosemary, exotic spices and blood. Round core density, airy and weightless, with vibrant offsetting acidity and fine fleshy tannin, finishing moderately long. In a really nice place at the moment. |

8/13/2021 - brinko99 Likes this wine: 89 pointsBrilliant fruit off the bat, super bright in the mouth. Soft savory tannin. Unfortunately there is an undercurrence of high tone VA that distracts. Unsure where this is going to go with further age. |

6/10/2021 - James Kim Likes this wine: 88 pointsDrank soon after decanting. Expressive floral aromas with prominent honeysuckle, some nuts, and a bit of bandaid. Smooth waxy mouth feel with savory and salty elements, mineral tang, a bit of nuttiness. Very good acids. Salty and saviry finish with a bit of heat. Still I liked this. |

6/28/2021 - Kiranonwine Likes this wine: NRNose complex but a little muted bramble, dark cherry some smoke and basalmic notes an undertone of blood. Much more intense flavours in the mouth elevated tannin that lingers in the tongue and full body ripe fruit and a meaty finish a warm year but still some freshness. Drinking well after a several hour decant but still time for more evolution. |

11/17/2020 - CelebrateLife! Likes this wine: 93 pointsDeep ruby medium intensity aromas of black fruit (black berry, black cherry) violet, black pepper, and soft sanguine notes. Soft vanilla and cedar. Dried potpourri. Dry with medium ripe tannins and medium plus acid. Medium plus body and length. The tannins will continue to evolve and improve this very good wine for a decade or more. |

9/23/2020 - csteets Likes this wine: 96 pointsThe greatest Crozes-Hermitage I ever tasted. It’s still young. It’s got another 20 years ahead. You can tell this is made of real old vines. It’s got depth and a finish that goes on and on. It reminds me of a cross between an Hermitage and a old school Cote Rotie. I’m glad a bought a case of this. |

5/18/2020 - Nick4378 Likes this wine: 92 pointsNose of berries and cassis. On the palate this is a massive wine but not over extracted or fruit bomb in any way. There are fistfuls or blackberries and raspberries on the attack followed by earth and rocks. The minerality is abundant. It very young and while delivering pleasure hints off and on as to what lurks beneath. |
