Decanted for for an hour and a half, which revealed a rich but slightly muted nose of bramble, black currant, leather, and a touch of earth. On the palate, there’s red fruit, and a touch more leather, but it lacks complexity. Tannins are noticeable but well integrated with a medium body and finish. It’s a fine wine, but lacks in some areas, especially considering other TRB wines from similar vintages like the ‘13 Hestan or the ‘14 4 Winds. I’m not convinced more time in the bottle will add much, and while I generally enjoyed drinking, I am not convinced this is a wine worthy of its price tag. |

On initial opening lots of black fruit and oak, tobacco. After a two hour decant was a bit shutdown but still showing great balance. Recorked and waited for day two which was excellent more of what I expected from this wine. Good dark fruit precision, tabacco, and tannins were still firm and present. Good now but still a long life ahead. |
