I didn’t get much in the way of earthiness. Overall a crisp and acidic but balanced wine. Paired only ok with white pizza with pesto. A Sauvignon Blanc would have been better. This wine needed a more acidic tomato based meal. |

Paired with a variety of Italian dishes, from a Burrata cheese opening to a Caesar salad to a truffle risotto, this wine was a delight. Red fruit on the nose and palate, mature tannins, and fresh acidity, this wine was enjoyable from the onset but also developed nicely once opened. The proper serving temperature enhanced the experience. |

Floral nose of petrol and herbs flows into a large, compact, and juicy palate revealing dried cherries, candle wax, old leather, pipe tobacco, hints of orange peel, and cinnamon-nutmeg on the tannic finish. This is still a baby - tight even after 5+ hours in the decanter - so will be best 2026-2036. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 90. |

Tar/liquorice/garrigue on the nose; not a tonne of fruit. Notably high acidity, with pretty fine, dusty tannins. Pretty pronounced, pure cherries on the palate, unlike the nose. Just a little bit of tar too. |

A slightly natty character (nowhere near the Colleoni style though) which gives energy and drive, plus a sense of vibrancy. Bright, concentrated and delicious fruit on the palate. Fiery tannins and sharp acidity - this won't be broachable for some time - but it could evolve beautifully. |

A blast on leather on the nose, maybe that's VA- I also got some notes of warm red cherries and baked plums. Tannins aren't too gritty, but they're there. Thankfully the acidity is pretty dialed-in, vibrant, not too sour or tart. The earthy, leathery profile here was overwhelming at times, but some folks might be into that. I've definitely had Brunello with just as much earthiness, but also much more fruit and presence. |
