There is a subtle touch of quince and mineral (perhaps a little too sotto voce) towards clay quality that reflects the amphoras that Craig uses. The sinewy and chewy phenolic grip adds a textural element to the wine, closing with more moist stones and fennel. It was intriguing, although the phenolics were a little distracting. More time in the bottle, perhaps to benefit from further development? |

Opens up with lemons, apple skin and what people call minerality. Incredibly complex yet precise - it runs you through a gamut of aromatics into a long crystalline finish. The aging and oak are ethereal and transparent as if they weren't there. It's currently on the mean side given its high acidity but should be incredible in a few years. |

The wine is similar to the nose on the palate, more linear and seemingly closed, with fresher and greener fruit, a bit of mineral, and Chablis styling. The wine has good length, a touch of savoury and oatmeal notes. I rather liked its subtlety and shyness as the acidity geared up to a mineral-edginess. Charming wine! |

Each parcel is vinified separately, with specific barrels or terracotta pots chosen for each picking. |
