Despite low expectations this is very much alive - really quite primary with bouncy cherry, raspberry compote with a cracked leather note, some liquorice. Full, ripe and clean on the palate- the tannins have mostly melted but there's still a touch of grip. This is crying out for some hoisin duck and pancakes.
