2019 Andremily Grenache

Immediately upon opening this I was blown away. It takes a lot to impress me at this point. I am not the most well tasted, but I have been an aficionado for about 30 years. Certain wines stick out. Mouton. Pavie. Sine Qua Non. Krug. Rayas. Many others. Anyway, the 2019 Andremily Grenache is special. The first smell was intense, almost overpowering. So concentrated. The taste was full of spices - cinnamon in particular - and various dried fruits. Chinese five spice? Of course there was some body odor. Grape Minute Maid Juice Bar. Some black and white pepper. Knott’s Berry Farm boysenberry pie. Most certainly I did not want to stop drinking. Buy this. Find the bottle. Spend the time, money, and effort. It drinks like a $250 wine.

12/30/2022 6:38:00 PM - Winedog1 is a good friend with an astute taste for Grenache, so I decided to open a bottle of this after reading his review. I completely agree with the entirety of Winedog1’s rating & comments.

Having mentioned that, a 2 hour decant is pretty ideal for this wine before launch. Oh, and BBQ’d burgers are a terrific pairing. Enjoy!

Brick color, earthy nose, and taste and tannins still holding up. Excellent wine.
