This one started out promising and totally fell apart over 4 hours...They should teach people how to treat bottles of wine. A poor auction bottle, hence some of of the bad notes...For old wine, good storage is king!

Also the shipping condition is a big deal too, if one plans to cellar the wine. I live in Minnesota and I only ship wine in April and October. Merchants will hold for customers. I also like to cellar wines that I have bought as futures and shipped properly and wines from reputable stores and soon upon release. My cold Minnesota cellar holds wine that often are the only bottles in good shape amongst friends with the same wines, but not as ideal storage as I have. I recently opened the 2003 Chateau Talbot and the wine is in great shape. Your Lascombes should be excellent and still young. I have Lascombes much older that are still in drinking condition. It is a pity that a perfectly good wine is ruined by bad storage. Hope you have better luck next time.
