Super young still. Needs at least another 5 years. Not sure why people are so into this wine as it is probably the last one I would pick for the price range it is in. I feel like this is the emperors new clothes of wine.

Fine White Wine Tasting (Oinoscent): Bright and clear nose showing peach and apricot notes (which I did not expect), floral, the oak stands in the back and comes in waves of nutty nuances. In the palate is again very impressive, bright fruit, nice acidity extrovert, mouthwatering acidity, med+ body and intensity with med to long finish.
Outstanding quality. A fellow claimed that it showed atypical signs of oxidation transformed and expressed as honey/ripe fruit character. Overall, it felt as something Mouton Rothschild would make.

5/25/2017 6:18:00 PM - Greetings Sir, I work for the Rothschilds in England, and regularly taste Aile d'argent. I remember reading a very high score from a well published critic, regarding the 2013. And I just didn't see it, in fact I scored it low 90's as I believe you have. About two weeks ago I met the 2013 again, once with veal, and twice as an aperitif. After being open for a few hours and at almost 15 degrees it transformed into a show stopper. It's knocking mid 90's now. So complete and well balanced. If you're in the UK and fancy tasting it again let me know. I look after 13k bottles of Lafite going back to 1870, and mouton to 1868. Be nice to show you the collections

Ranjan's 113th Birthday Dinner (Members' Lounge, Happy Valley Racecourse, Hong Kong): (From a 5.0L decanted for a couple of hours prior to serving.... way not long enough). Very slightly browning purple-red at the outer of a bright opaque core. Nose is quite closed, which is typical of the vintage but was overly so with this wine because of the format. Palate is lovely plump fruit then a very dry finish. Surprisingly subdued in terms of length or resonance on the finale. People were somewhat confused by this and were drinking the label rather than the wine......the 1986s are still very closed and it especially showed in this very big format bottle. Come back in 10+ years.

12/18/2016 6:28:00 PM - Goldstone, your note exactly reflects my most recent experience with 86 Mouton from a 75cl - its gone from being alive and rewarding to tannic and shy. Its clearly not your fault, but feel free to backhand whoever decided to open a Jeroboam of 86 mouton before 2050....it needs 20 years in a mag, let alone a Jero

5/25/2017 5:34:00 PM - Just for fun, opened and presented Lafite 1986 - ex cellars, reconditioned, new cork etc etc, for very unappreciative clients last week. What a muddle that wine is in too. I haven't had 45 mouton or Lafite, but the 1986 seems to be following suit. Shut down as hard as 30 year old wine can be. Seriously, open the 2009s before. Crazy logic, unless you've tasted
