4/27/2024 - thesternowl wrote: 93 pointsFoillard’s “Cuvée Corcelette” comes from the eponymous climate in Morgan where Jean’s holdings include vines over 80 years of age. This is a stunning wine that is so Foillard in style: fresh and deep.

2017 Bel Colle Barolo SimposioNebbiolo more |
4/25/2024 - ArmadilloBandit Likes this wine: 93 pointsOpened this at 9am and decanted until dinner. Tannins were quite grippy when the bottle was opened, but wow was this good when dinner came around. Had all the trademarks of good Barolo with notable cherry and tar. This should age well for many years to come. If you drink it now, definitely decant for 4+ hours.

2019 Lagar de Proventus Tr3smano Ribera del Duero Tr3smanoTempranillo more |

4/10/2024 - rexmerlot wrote: 90 pointsClear dark purple in colour. Notes of blackberry, spice, and some tobacco. Nice acidity, med body, grippy tannins. Would have preferred this with a piece of meat. Partner loved the wine, I enjoyed but I am thinking we drank it too soon. Love all the wines from this producer.

2022 Dilao Rkatsiteli Mtsvane Dry Amber WineKakheti White Blend more |
4/7/2024 - Neecies Likes this wine: 95 pointsOrange wine that is a 50/50 blend of Rkasitelli and Mtsvane. Aged and fermented in qvevri. Beautiful amber gold. Heady aromas of wildflowers, pineapple guava, cantaloupe, almonds and the incense wafting out of the backroom of an Arab souk. All that on the palate too, rich and racy at the same time. Absolutely mesmerizing. I have a headache this morning because our host left the bottle too close to me and I couldn't leave it alone. Serve at room temperature, not chilled.

2020 Cape Mentelle Cabernet SauvignonMargaret River more |
4/7/2024 - sjw_11 wrote: 88 pointsSecond bottle of a six pack and for the producer this is frankly a shade underwhelming. The oak character is the dominant characteristic, almost gluey at first which is odd given they say this sees French oak and I normally associate that with American oak. There is some light blackcurrant and spice we well, but it's not particularly expressive. Perhaps in a moody zone and needing more time?

4/5/2024 - Gargantua Likes this wine: NRTaut and chiseled, and has just the right amount of fruit to my liking. Not funky by any measure. Best Chenin I’ve had in a while. Really like that it’s 12.5, just in my wheelhouse.

4/7/2024 - mfimiani47 Likes this wine: 94 points94+. What an incredible wine. The nose is incredibly perfumed with strawberries. The mouthfeel is excellent, picking up in intensity with air with the tannins giving it some much needed structure to hold the frame of the fruit. Just lovely.

4/5/2024 - WineGuyDelMar Likes this wine: 92 pointsOpened and had a sip. Much less tannic than last note. PNPI I felt it needed a short decant. While my Vitello Parmesiano was cooking I decanted 15 minutes. Perfect. It’s drinking amazing. Italian for sure. I have the 16 too. Amazing QPR for this wine.

4/1/2024 - KVM wrote: NRLight yellow. Decanted. Ripe nose, possibly Botrytis, pineapple, anise, cream. Rich palate of pear, spice, in a medium+ body, good acidity and longish finish. I would NEVER guess this is Chablis... think Meursault Charmes, instead. Hey, this is really good and good right now.

4/1/2024 - JAP55 Likes this wine: 88 pointsUnfortunately, the half bottle I left overnight after air evacuation, did not survive very well. So, drink within a few hours of opening. Initially, high levels of taking were evident with coconut being prevelent on the palate accompanied by lesser amounts of strawberry. The second day experience was that of low fruit not offsetting the tannin and acidity. Not a great experience. My 88 was based on the first day experience.

4/1/2024 - Elycohn Likes this wine: 94 pointsO hell yes. Grilled peaches with thick black strapped grate marks. Smoke and char, honey and blood orange and little pricks of jasmine. Tastes like sour apricot marmalade and bitter grapefruit pith in a perfectly medium body.

3/30/2024 - Gargantua wrote: NRQuite impressive. I was sort of wanting to hate this wine, because I'm an old codger that is still hating on these pricier CdNV bottles, but honestly tasting this right now I feel this wine delivers for the price. Suave and pure, slightly fullish fruit, and some rose and soapy elements on the nose that are probably the result of the stem inclusion. I agree with Jasper Morris that the stems don't stick out nearly as much as you'd think for 100% whole cluster. Worth it.

3/29/2024 - Neecies Likes this wine: NRLight straw gold, it offers apple, pear and mild ashy notes with a supple sweetness in the finish. Not as firm as I like my Chablis to be but a good companion for the sweet pecans and salty crumbled blue cheese in the salad course.

3/29/2024 - Brent25 Likes this wine: 92 pointsClear deep gold; clean medium plus nose of apricot, ginger and honey; dry; high acidity; medium plus alcohol; full body; medium plus to pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of macadamia nuts, marmalade, pith and wax; long finish; drinking superbly; has the structure to last another 5+years but why wait?
